When will GATE 2027 exam be conducted: Registration, Admit Card and Result Dates

GATE 2027 Official Notification is expected to be released in fourth week of July. The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras will hold GATE exam 2027 for 30 subjects. Once the official website for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is launched, students can download GATE 2027 information bulletin and check GATE exam dates and apply accordingly.

No, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering examination takes place once a year. Every year, different IITs and IISc conduct exam on rotational basis. GATE is conducted online for three hours for 30 branch papers.

Q:   For how many subjects is the GATE exam conducted?

The GATE exam is conducted for 30 subject papers. In 2024, the GATE Data Science and Artificial Intelligence was introduced. Each subject or branch is determined by a paper code which applicant must note carefully. While filling out the application form, candidates must check the GATE branch and paper codes and add them. 

When will GATE Exam be Conducted in 2027?

According to the past GATE exam date timeline, IIT Madras will hold the exam in the first two weekends of February. Thus, the exam dates are expected to be around Feb 6, 7, 13 and 14. The MTech engineering exam will be held online in two shifts.

IIT Madras will release subject-wise GATE 2027 exam dates on the official website (a few after the release of admit card). Along with the exam dates, students can also check their respective GATE exam shift timings as well. On each date, the test will be held for multiple papers.

When will GATE 2027 Registration Start: How to Apply

GATE registration is the first stage of admission process. Candidates who meet GATE exam eligibility can apply for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. To apply, it is mandatory to create an account at GOAPS to register. Once registration is complete, candidates will receive an enrolment ID and password. The form-filling process includes steps like entering personal and educational details, uploading documents, and paying fees. 

Documents required in GATE Application Form: Photograph, Signature, and a valid ID proof.

When will the GATE Exam be conducted: Form Correction Date

After the completion of GATE registration 2027, IIT Madras will open application correction facility for three to four days. In this stage, students can make changes to their application form. Check GATE application correction facility details.

When will GATE Exam be Conducted in 2027: Admit Card Release Date

IIT Madras will issue GATE 2027 admit card in January 3, 2026 (tenative). Candidates who have registered for GATE 2027, can download their admit card from GOAPS. The credentials needed to download the hall ticket is enrollment ID and password.
