JEE Main Application Form 2026: The NTA has announced that registration for the first session (January attempt) will start in October. The application form will be available online on the JEE Main official website- jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates can check here the details about documents required for JEE Mains 2026 and how to fill the form. The NTA released an advisory on September 29 advising students to ensure that their Aadhar card, UDID card (for persons with disabilities), and OBC-NCL/SC/ST/EWS certificates (for reserved category candidates) are updated and valid before applying for the JEE Mains 2026 exam.

NTA activated the JEE Main 2026 registration demo link on October 7 at the website demo.nta.nic.in through which candidates can understand the application process, documents required to apply and fee details. As the JEE Main 2026 demo registration is active, the application form is expected to be released this week. The tentative JEE Mains registration date 2026 session 1 is October 15, 2025.

JEE Main 2026 Eligibility Criteria to Fill Form

NTA will release the JEE Main 2026 eligibility criteria along with the information brochure/notification in October. Candidates can check the eligibility conditions for JEE Main here, based on last year's details, to ensure they meet the requirements to apply for the exam like JEE Mains age limit, percentage in class 12 etc.

Candidates must have passed the Class 12 exam in 2024/2025 or are appearing in 2026.
No age limit.
No minimum marks in class 12th (75% marks not required to appear in JEE Main)
For Paper 1 (BE/BTech), candidates must have Physics and Maths in Class 12 and any other subject from Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical vocational subject.

JEE Main Registration 2026 will begin in October, as per the official notification released by the NTA. Q: Is 75 percent marks in class 12 required for JEE Mains?

Candidates need not have 75 percent marks in class 12 for appearing in JEE Main. As per the official brochure released by the NTA, there is no minimum percentage required for appearing in the JEE Main. The requirement of 75 percent marks need not be associated with appearing in the JEE Main exam.

It is to be understood that 75 percent marks is required for admission to institutes which include NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and IITs. Many institutes offer admission at 60% and even less, along with JEE Main. Candidates must clearly understand that the requirement of 75 percent marks in class 12 is only for taking admission in the institutes.

Documents Required for JEE Mains 2026 Registration

Candidates must be ready with all the information/ documents required to fill JEE Mains form mentioned here before applying. Here is the list of JEE Main 2026 Registration documents.

Valid email and mobile number. To receive confirmation and verification messages from NTA, an active email address and mobile number are mandatory.

Essential Guidelines for Images and Documents

A colour or black and white photo should be used. The candidates are allowed to have spectacles in the photograph. Sunglasses and caps are not allowed.
Unclear photos will not be accepted. The uploaded photo should be clear and adhere to the recommended file size and format as specified in the guidelines provided by NTA.
The signature should be clearly done on white paper. The size and format of the uploaded signature should comply with the guidelines.

Aadhar enrollment number is a unique number which students can find in the acknowledgement receipt received at the time of applying for Aadhar. The given steps have to be followed to fill JEE Main 2026 application form. Candidates are advised to fill in all the details in the application carefully and not make any mistakes.

Step 1 Registration: In the first step, candidates must complete the JEE Main 2026 registration process at jeemain.nta.nic.in. After clicking on ‘New Registration’, candidates will have to check the instructions and register by submitting the given details:

A strong password has to be generated by candidates. After confirming all of the provided details, the JEE Main 2026 application number will be generated and displayed on the screen. The application number has to be kept safe since it will be required during the entire admission process.
