JEE Main 2026 Notification - The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the JEE Main 2026 information brochure comprising eligibility, syllabus, pattern and the detailed application process. The authority conducted the JEE Main 2026 registration for session 1 from October 31 to November 27, 2025. The latest JEE Main 2026 notification is regarding the JEE Main 2026 form correction from December 1 to 2. The authority also issued a clarification regarding the use of a calculator in the JEE Main exam. The earlier mention of an on-screen JEE Main calculator was a "typo". The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam date is January 21 to 30, 2026, while the session 2 exam will be held between April 2 and 9. JEE Main 2026 Advisory for the JEE Main Required Documents
The authority issued the first notification for JEE Mains 2026 on September 29, which was an advisory/instruction on the documents required for JEE Mains. The authority urged candidates to get their documents updated and ready for the JEE Main registration, set to begin in October 2025. Students had to ensure the following documents are updated:
- Aadhaar Card: Make sure it is updated with the correct name, date of birth (as per Class 10th certificate), latest photograph, address and father's name.
- UDID Card: Applicable for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates only.
- Category Certificate for EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL: Candidates must ensure it is valid, updated and renewed.
NTA has announced the JEE Mains 2026 session 1 exam date. Paper 1 exam was held on January 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28, and paper 2 exam was held on January 29.
The difficulty level of JEE Main 2025 April 2 shift 1 exam will be available after the exam concludes. Shiksha will provide the difficulty level and JEE Main paper analysis, students reaction based on feedback from students who are appearing in the exam.

JEE Main Syllabus PDF
The syllabus pdf of JEE Main 2026 has been released at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Syllabus comprises the topics which shall be covered in the test. Preparation at the students' end needs to be done completely based on the mentioned syllabus to cover all topics. Last year, the conducting body introduced significant changes in the JEE Main exam pattern; the optional questions in Section B were excluded, and hence all the questions in the paper became compulsory. For the JEE Main 2026, no changes have been brought in the syllabus as well as in the pattern.
NTA has announced the JEE Main 2026 exam date for Session 2. JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam will be held from 2nd April 2026 to 9th April 2026. The JEE Main Application Form 2026 for Session 2 will be available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE Main aspirants who are Diabetic are allowed to carry sugar tablets, fruits like bananas, oranges, or apples, and a transparent water bottle as per NTA. Diabetic students are advised to keep a check on their health before and in between the exams to avoid any health issues.
The the toughest shift of the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam was January 23, shift 2. Also, some candidates found the JEE Main 22 Jan shift 2 exam the hardest one. The JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam was held in 10 shifts. To overcome the difficulty level differences, NTA will normalise the score of the candidates.

JEE Main exam is not mandatory for admission in Prestige University BTech courses. Students can apply with a valid score of other entrance exams as well. The other accepted exams are CUET/ SAT/ ACT and PU Aptitude Test.

Yes, SRM do accepts JEE Main score for admission to a few programs at certain campuses. As per the details available in the official website - "Any Candidate qualified in IIT JEE Main/SAT will be admitted directly even if the candidate doesn't take SRMJEEE."

Yes, UV Patel College of Engineering accepts JEE Main marks for taking admission in the BE/BTech courses. The college also accepts score from GUJCET exam for BTech admissions. Candidates have to undergo counselling and fill the application form of college.
