AIBE exam is all about testing candidates for the subjects they have studied in their LLB degree. Therefore, the candidates should appear for the examination with a relaxed mind to attempt the question paper confidently.

Q:   How to choose best books for AIBE exam?
A:

To choose the best books for AIBE, ensure they cover all 19 subjects, including Constitutional Law, CPC, CrPC, and Professional Ethics. Since AIBE is an open-book exam, prioritize Bare Acts (without comments) for quick reference. Select books that include previous years' solved papers and mock tests for practice. Opt for the latest edition with updated amendments and case laws. Books with concise explanations and easy-to-understand language are preferable. Recommended choices include Universal's Guide to AIBE, Singhal's Solved Papers, and Bare Acts by Universal or EBC. A combination of Bare Acts and guides ensures effective preparation.

Q:   How useful are AIBE books?
A:

AIBE books are useful for covering the syllabus, providing practice questions, and offering concise explanations of legal concepts. They help candidates understand key subjects like Constitutional Law, CPC, CrPC, and Professional Ethics. However, since AIBE is an open-book exam, Bare Acts are more critical for direct legal references. While these books include past papers and MCQs, their quality varies, and they may not be as effective for practical legal application. To maximize their benefit, use them alongside Bare Acts, highlight key sections, and practice case-based questions. Recommended books include Universal's Guide to AIBE and Singhal's Solved Papers.

Q:   Can I carry books in AIBE exam?
A:

Yes, AIBE is an open-book exam, so you can carry books, but with certain restrictions. Here's what you need to know:

Allowed Materials:

Bare Acts (with or without short notes) – These are the most useful in the exam.
Printed books and study materials – You can bring guides, but they shouldn't have extensive explanations.
Photocopies of Bare Acts (without annotations).

Not Allowed:

Guides with elaborate explanations or case commentaries.
Handwritten notes or loose papers.
Electronic devices, notebooks, or mobile phones.
The best strategy is to carry Bare Acts with important sections highlighted for quick reference.

Q:   How many books are required during preparation to crack AIBE exam?
A:

To crack the AIBE exam, you need 2–3 essential books. The most important are Bare Acts (without comments) for subjects like Constitutional Law, IPC, CrPC, CPC, and Evidence Act, as AIBE is an open-book exam. Additionally, one good guidebook such as Universal's Guide to AIBE or Singhal's Solved Papers helps with explanations and practice questions. Finally, solving previous year papers and mock tests improves speed and familiarity with the exam pattern. Avoid too many books—focus on Bare Acts + one guidebook + past papers for the best results.

Q:   What are the best books to prepare for AIBE 20 Exam?

How to prepare for AIBE 20 at last minute?

Picking the right set of books is only the first step towards effective AIBE preparation. To crack the exam, candidates need to have a well-formulated preparation strategy and a well-thought-out study plan.

  • Make a study plan and stick to it - Once you have a plan, follow it without fail.
  • Consult the updated syllabus and pattern - Exam officials from time to time update the exam syllabus, so you need to follow only the current syllabus; ditto for the exam pattern.
  • Take notes during the study - This habit will make you more attentive apart from helping you jot down all the key and difficult points that you can quickly revise.
  • Mind the weightage carried by various topics - If you look at the AIBE syllabus, you will see that the weightage is not the same for all the topics. Some topics carry as much as 10 per cent weightage, while others only carry 2 per cent weightage. This means you can't spend disproportionate time preparing for a topic that carries just 2 per cent weightage.
  • Complete the easy portion first - You may find some topics difficult and time-consuming. If such topics are not essential to understanding the subsequent topic, you may skip the chapter for now and come back to it once you are done with the easier topics.
  • Develop your reasoning and analytical abilities - These abilities will not only help you crack the AIBE 19 exam but also serve you well in your career as a lawyer.
  • What else: Apart from studying the recommended books, keep a track of all the recent law cases and judgments

You may also go through exam preparation tips by AIBE qualified candidates. These tips will give you insights into how these candidates approached their preparation, the strategies they adopted and other such nuggets that you may like to incorporate in your preparation.
