Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) was conducted on May 13, 2018 and the result for the law entrance exam was declared on May 31, 2018. It has been shared that around 63,000 students appeared for CLAT exam, this year.

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi conducted CLAT 2018. The national level law entrance exam, CLAT, is conducted on a rotational basis by the 19 NLUs. As per CLAT 2018 result, the top three rank holders are from Jaipur. Aman Garg has topped CLAT 2018 with a score of 159 out of 200. Rank 2 and Rank 3 in the law entrance exam has been secured by Devansh Kaushik and Anmol Gupta. Both the students have secured the same marks, that is, 157.5/200. However, as per tie break rules applied in this exam wherein if two or more candidates secure the same total marks in CLAT exam then the student who has secured higher marks in the Legal Aptitude section is ranked higher.

Devansh Kaushik who secured Rank 2 in CLAT has secured AIR 1 in AILET 2018 whereas Anmol Gupta has secured AIR 3 in both CLAT as well as AILET 2018 exam. After CLAT 2018 results are declared, candidates who meet the cutoffs need to appear for CLAT 2018 counselling round. Candidates need to take part in the counselling round as per CLAT 2018 dates shared by authorities. CLAT counselling process would be conducted from June 7 to July 6, 2018. Candidates need to remit CLAT counselling fee of Rs 50,000 between June 8 to June 12, 2018.

CLAT 2018 is the means through which aspirants are shortlisted for admission in courses offered at the National Law Universities (NLUs). The courses in which aspirants can secure admission basis their score in CLAT exam are – BA LLB (Hons), BSc LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), BSW LLB (Hons), BCom LLB (Hons) and LLM.

CLAT 2018 conducted by NUALS Kochi has been in the eye of the storm since it was conducted on May 13. The Supreme Court (SC) heard pleas raised by applicants with respect to glitches in CLAT 2018 conducted by The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi. Students who had appeared for the law entrance exam conducted on May 13 had filed around 251 complaints before the SC to cancel the exam conducted by NUALS. However, the SC bench has given its nod to declare CLAT 2018 results on May 31.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had asked NUALS Kochi to set up a Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) to address the concerns put forth by aspirants. The court has given GRC time till June 6, 2018 to look into the matter and submit its report. The report of the GRC was submitted to the court in a sealed cover. It stated that the committee had gone through the complaints of 167 examinees out of 251 complaints that were received till May 23, 2018. The committee has requested the court for some more time to complete the scrutiny of the complaints which it has received beyond the number of 251 and another 25 complaints that were put forth the top court and the high courts seeking the annulment of CLAT.

Yes, you can join the BBA LLB programme in Amrita International School of Law without CLAT exam. If you have a valid AILET score, you can submit it for admission. Else you can appear for Amrita Law Admission Test (AmLAT).

No, CLAT is not compulsory to take admission in Ishaan Institute of Law. The institute offers admission into the courses such as LLB, BA LLB and LLM based on the merit achieved by the candidates in their last qualifying exam. Application process is compulsory and it can be conducted online/offline.

The charges for CLAT registration are 4000 Rs. for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates. While its Rs. 3,500 for SC/ST/BPL candidates. Candidates have options like UPI, Credit Card, Debit Card & Net Banking when it comes to paying for the same.
