Symbiosis International University (SIU) has started SLAT 2027 registration. Candidates can register for this law exam on Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) website, set-test.org. The Symbiosis Law Admission Test is held for admission to BA LLB, BBA LLB, BA LLB (Hons.), and BBA LLB (Hons.) courses. Candidates need to complete registration to get admission to one of mentioned 5-year LLB courses through SLAT exam. Students first need to ensure they satisfy eligibility criteria laid out by examination conducting authority. The SLAT 2027 exam dates are: December 19 & 26, 2026.

SIU will not allow candidates to appear for this law entrance exam if they do not meet SLAT 2027 eligibility criteria. Candidates can fill SLAT 2027 registration form till December 4, 2026. SLAT eligibility 2027 includes academic, age, as well as category requirements. SLAT Eligibility Criteria 2027 - Academic Qualification
The educational requirements as per SLAT 2027 eligibility for BA LLB and BBA LLB are as under:
- Candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent examinations from a recognised board of education.
- They should have secured at least 45% marks in the Class 12 examinations.
- Those belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes must have obtained at least 40% marks in Class 12 examinations, as per the relaxation in minimum marks requirements given to these reserved categories.
- Candidates who are awaiting results of Class 12 can also apply, but their results, as per the requirements mentioned above, should be declared before the SLAT 2027 counselling process begins. In case Class 12 results of such candidates are not announced, or they fail to fulfil the minimum marks criteria of SLAT 2027, then they will not be allowed to participate in further selection process.

To be eligible for the SLAT exam, candidates should pass 10+2 exam from any recognised board. Candidates from the general or open category must have scored 45%.
SLAT exam authority uses University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines for SLAT reservation policy. As per the exam authority, the total percentage of reserved seats for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates is 15. The total percentage of seats reserved for Scheduled Tries candidates in SLAT is 7.5%. The exam authority has reserved 5% of seats for wards of Defence Personnel at Symbiosis Law School Pune. The reservation facility for wards of Defence personnel is not available at the other three Symbiosis Law Schools. Moreover, 3% of total seats are reserved for Different Able candidates in all SLSs through SLAT.
SLAT is conducted in two slots in a single year. Students can appear for both slots. SIU considers a higher score in both attempts for merit list preparation.
No, you will not be called for the Personal Interview (PI) round for Symbiosis Law Schools if you haven't cleared the SLAT exam. Candidates must note that SLAT scores are mandatory for shortlisting. You need to score above the cut-off to get a PI call, and you must attend all parts of the PI to be eligible for admission.
SLAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria - Age Limit
SIU does not mention any age limit for the candidates as part of SLAT eligibility criteria. Therefore, candidates can apply irrespective of their age for BA LLB and BBA LLB courses offered at SLAT colleges.
Law academic regulations are laid down by the Bar Council of India (BCI), and the regulatory authority has removed any age restrictions from legal education eligibility requirements. Therefore, SIU also follows the same eligibility criteria for SLAT 2027.
SLAT Eligibility Criteria 2027 - Defence Category
Candidates applying for SLAT 2027 under Children/ Wards of Defence Personnel can claim 5% seats reserved for the category at SLS Pune only. However, such candidates should provide the documents stating their category, i.e. Children/ Wards of Defence Personnel, at the time of SLAT 2027 counselling. The following candidates are considered under this category:
- Children/Wards of Defence Personnel who are serving/ retired Defence personnel from Army, Navy, or Air Force.
- Children/ Ward of Ex-servicemen are also included in the retired Defence personnel category, so they are also eligible.
- Children/ Ward of Defence personnel who died while in service or after retirement are also included in this category
SLAT 2027 eligibility criteria is one of the parameters in the selection process, and any candidate who fails to adhere to it will not be shortlisted for admission.

SLAT 2027 Exam Eligibility Criteria- Differently Abled Category
Since the university has 3% seats reserved for the Differently Abled Category (DAC), only candidates having the below-mentioned physical disabilities are considered in this category:
- Vision Impairment (VI) candidates
- Hearing Impairment (HI) candidates
- Locomotor Disabilities (LMD) candidates
- Mental Retardation (MR) candidates
- Multiple Disabilities (MD) candidates
- Dyslexia candidates
The disabilities mentioned above should be 40% or more, and candidates claiming admission under this category should get a medical examination certificate issued by a medical authority.
As per the eligibility requirements of SIU, ‘A Differently Abled category candidate is requested to upload his/her Medical Certificate issued by a competent authority at the time of registration for ascertaining percentage of the disability. The candidate failing to do this will be considered under the Open Category.
A candidate claiming admission under DAC will be provisionally admitted under the said category. Thereafter, the candidate will be required to obtain an ‘Authentication Certificate’.The candidate will have to get the disability certificate authenticated by the Medical Board of Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Centre (SUHRC). Once the certificate is found authentic and correct by the Medical Board, SUHRC, his/her eligibility will be certified under the DA category.”
Such candidates can get permission to bring a Scribe to appear in the SLAT 2027 examination if they mention the DAC category in their application form. Moreover, they will be given 20 minutes extra to attempt SLAT 2027. This means the total duration of SLAT 2027 for DAC candidates is 1 hour minutes.

Foreign candidates do not need to appear for SLAT. Their admission (and hence eligibility rules) are different from Indian candidates. Foreign Nationals, OCIs, NRIs, and PIOs can apply for admission under International Category. Check applicable rules below.

- NRIs/ OCIs/ PIOs/ Foreign Nationals need not appear for SLAT exam.
- Candidates are granted admission based on seat availability, academic performance, and document verification.

- Separate seats are allotted for admission of these candidates.
