What will 8 Marks be in XAT Percentile?
Scoring 8 marks overall in XAT is extremely low, as the overall score is a sum of scores from all sections. However, 8 marks in a tough section of the XAT exam may still convert to a percentile above 70. An overall score of 8 marks in XAT will be below 50 percentile and can even go around 30 percentile.

What will 16 Marks be in XAT Percentile?
Candidates scoring 16 marks in XAT can expect a percentile within the range of 70 and 75. However, raw score into percentile conversion depends on the exam's difficulty level and competition. 16 marks as a sectional score in XAT is a good score as it could convert to 99 per centile for a section like VALR, QADI, or DM.
Note: Candidates scoring low in exam must wait for the shortlists as XAT cutoff scores can change based on factors like difficulty standards and number of seats.
XAT Score Calculation
Calculating XAT raw score requires candidates to consider the marking scheme set by XLRI. For each correct response, candidates get +1 mark. Whereas, for an incorrect response 0.25 marks are deducted. Candidates face a penalty of 0.10 marks for more than 8 consecutive un-attempted questions.
Example:
A candidate who attempts 70 questions out of 95, out of which 60 questions are correct and 10 questions are marked incorrectly. Then his overall XAT score will be 60 - 2.5 = 57.5
NOTE: GK score is not included in the calculation of XAT percentile.
XAT Percentile Calculation
XLRI releases the XAT scorecard with percentile scores. XAT percentile score is calculated based on the ranks of all candidates. To calculate your XAT percentile, candidates can use the following formula:
XAT Percentile Score = Total Candidates - Your Rank / Total Candidates × 100
Using the formula above, candidates get to know the percentage of test-takers against whom they scored better.
