The official CAT registration image upload system accepts files only in .jpg or .jpeg formats. Images saved in PNG, PDF, or GIF formats cannot be uploaded.

The image must not appear blurry or distorted when previewed.

Candidates must ensure they have multiple copies of the passport-size photograph they have uploaded. Same photo will be required on the CAT exam day.

How to Upload Photograph & Signature in CAT Registration Form?
Candidates can complete the upload process under the Personal Details section of the online application. Follow the steps below to upload your CAT documents required during registration:

Access the CAT 2026 login dashboard using your registered User ID and Password.

Click on the ‘GO TO APPLICATION’ button on the upper right side of the screen.

Select the ‘Personal Details’ tab inside the CAT 2026 application form.

Scroll down to the ‘Documents Upload’ subsection.

Click on the upload button for the passport-size photograph.

Browse the device to choose the .jpg or .jpeg photo file that is 80 KB or smaller.

Click on the upload link for the signature.

Select the .jpg or .jpeg signature file meeting the 80mm x 35mm dimensional criteria.

Check the uploaded preview on screen to verify that both images are clear and readable.

Click ‘SAVE & NEXT’ to move to the next section.
CAT Registration 2026: Common Reasons for Image Upload Errors
Candidates may face issues while uploading CAT photo or CAT signature in the exam form. The system will reject uploads if any of the upload specifications are not met. Some of the common reasons for image upload errors in CAT application form are as follows:

Uploading files in unsupported file formats such as PNG, PDF, BMP, or TIFF instead of .jpg or .jpeg

File size exceeding the strict 80 KB limit for either photo or signature.

Image dimensions not matching the specified rules (1200px x 1200px for photos or 80mm x 35mm for signatures).

Scanning images with a resolution lower than the required 150 px/inch.

Uploading blurry, dark, or low-quality image scans.
-
Using a photo older than six months or one that does not have a white background.
While filling the CAT application form, candidates will find a ‘PREVIEW’ button. Candidates must ensure they preview the form once they have uploaded their photograph and signature. In case the images look distorted, candidates must reupload the same.
