CAT Registration 2026: Common Reasons for Image Upload Errors

Candidates may face issues while uploading CAT photo or CAT signature in the exam form. The system will reject uploads if any of the upload specifications are not met. Some of the common reasons for image upload errors in CAT application form are as follows:

  • Uploading files in unsupported file formats such as PNG, PDF, BMP, or TIFF instead of .jpg or .jpeg

  • File size exceeding the strict 80 KB limit for either photo or signature.

  • Image dimensions not matching the specified rules (1200px x 1200px for photos or 80mm x 35mm for signatures).

  • Scanning images with a resolution lower than the required 150 px/inch.

  • Uploading blurry, dark, or low-quality image scans.

  • Using a photo older than six months or one that does not have a white background.

While filling the CAT application form, candidates will find a ‘PREVIEW’ button. Candidates must ensure they preview the form once they have uploaded their photograph and signature. In case the images look distorted, candidates must reupload the same.
