Karnataka PGCET MBA 2020 exam will be held on October 14 for a duration of two hours, from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Get the detailed timeline of the exam events here.

Karnataka PGCET 2020 for MBA admission at 178 colleges across Karnataka is scheduled to be conducted on October 14, from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), the exam conducting body, has released the detailed timeline, i.e. time-wise distribution of exam day events so that the test-takers can prepare and manage their time accordingly.

Karnataka PCGCET 2020 Reporting Time

The Karnataka PGCET 2020 reporting time is mentioned in the Karnataka PGCET 2020 admit card. Candidates should reach the exam centre at least one hour prior to the exam timing. Owing to the COVID-19 safety protocols, the time taken to complete the entry process is longer than usual. Hence, candidates much reach the centre well in advance.

Now, let us take a look at the time-wise exam events.

2 PM

  • Candidates will be allowed entry to the exam centre after their Karnataka PGCET 2020 admit card and valid photo Identity Card are checked.
  • They will have to follow the seating arrangement instruction and take the assigned seat.
  • Invigilators will verify the photograph pasted on the Admit Card with the Identity Card and the Nominal Roll with the candidate present for examination.
  • Invigilators will distribute the OMR Answer Sheets and they will have to write their names on the OMR Answer Sheets.
  • Candidates have to carefully enter the Karnataka PGCET Number by shading the respective circles on the OMR Answer Sheet after proper verification.

2.15 PM to 2.25 PM

  • The Deputy Chief Superintendent / Custodian will distribute the sealed question paper packet to room invigilators in the examination hall at 2.20 PM.

  • The Invigilatorsannounce by showing the sealed question paper packet to the candidates present in the examination hall that the question paper is completely sealed and would certify the same by getting signatures of any two candidates present in the examination hall, in the space provided on the packet.

  • The invigilator will then open the Question Paper packet and distribute the question booklets in the prescribed manner at 2.25 PM to the candidates present in the examination hall.

  • The candidates should carefully enter the Version Code of the question booklet and shade the respective circle on the space provided on the OMR Answer Sheet. They should also enter the question booklet serial on the OMR Answer Sheet and affix their signature on the bottom portion of the OMR Answer Sheet.

  • Until the third bell is rung, the candidates should not be allowed either to look inside the question booklet or to start answering on the OMR answer sheet.

  • The invigilators should obtain the signature of the candidates on the nominal roll and should verify the same with the signature printed on the nominal roll.

2.30 PM

  • The candidates will be allowed to open their question booklets and to start answering on the OMR answer sheet.

  • A bell will ring at 2.30 PM, after which candidates will not be allowed either to enter or to leave the examination hall, till the completion of the session.

3.30 PM to 4.25 PM

Caution bells will be rung at 3.30 PM, 4 PM and 4.25 PM to indicate the remaining duration of 60 minutes, 30 minutes and 5 minutes respectively.

4.30 PM

  • Final bell will ring indicating the conclusion of the exam

  • Soon after this bell, invigilators will instruct all candidates to stop answering on the OMR answer sheet.

  • The Invigilator will collect the OMR answer sheets from the candidates.

  • Invigilators will return the question booklets to the candidates before they leave the exam hall

     

Candidates will have to leave the exam hall by making a queue and following social distancing norms. They have to ensure that they have submitted their OMR Answer Sheets along with the rough sheets and have taken their personal belongings while leaving the exam hall.

The highest rank acceptable in 2024 was 2206 for the General AI category. So, students who have a rank below 2206 have a better chance of admission in the MBA/PGDM course. Students should know that the cutoff for other categories will vary.

Qualifying Karnataka PGCET is compulsory for Karnataka domicile students to get admission in M.Arch in BMS School of Architecture. For others, it is not compulsory and they can get admission based on GATE score or through Management Quota.
