Logical Reasoning:
This section had 25 questions on analytical and logical reasoning while the remaining 15 were from verbal reasoning. The questions were from coding, blood relation, statement and argument, statement conclusion, decision-making, statement-assumption, statement-inference, syllogism, input/output (2 sets), missing number & visual reasoning, direction and singlets. Overall, the section was of easy to moderate level of difficulty.
An attempt of 25-27 with 90% accuracy was achievable.
Quantitative Skills:
In this section of NMAT 2019, most of the questions asked were from arithmetic, numbers and modern maths. Questions on geometry and algebra were very few. The section has questions from profit & loss, percentages, ratio & proportion, SI & CI, averages, work & time, number system, progression, logarithms, geometry, permutation combination, probability, data sufficiency and data interpretation. The maximum number of questions were from data interpretation (20), followed by number system (9) and data sufficiency (5). Rest of the topics had questions ranging from 1-3 in number.
Questions from modern maths were of moderate difficulty, while time & work questions were easy.
A good attempt of 30 - 32 question was achievable.
Language Skills:
As mentioned above, this section was the toughest of all. It had para jumble, error spotting, prepositions, common confusables, vocabulary, synonyms & antonyms, analogy and cloze test. Cloze test questions were difficult to solve, as words used were not easy. In spotting the error questions, the errors were not just grammatical but more nuanced; like spotting error in placing of apostrophe, etc. The two Reading Comprehension passages, made the section difficult further. The first passage was on Zeus while the second one was on the difference between influence and manipulation. The para-jumble and preposition based fill in the blanks questions were however easy.
An overall attempt of 22-24 with 90% accuracy was achievable.
