NMIMS MBA Cutoff 2026 (Released): NMAT Sectional Cutoff (Drops), Selection Criteria

NMAT participating institutes decide the cutoff scores for admission and to shortlist candidates for admission rounds. Several factors, including the previous year's cutoff scores, total applicants, total seats, candidate's performance, among other factors helps in deciding the cutoff scores.

Typically, the participating institute shall decide the NMAT cutoff marks based on the number of seats, total applicants, and previous year's cutoff scores. The cutoff score may change based on demand-supply principle. More number of applications will lead to higher cutoff score. Whereas, decrease in the number of applications can lead to a lower cutoff score.

Amity University admission 2024 to MBA course is based on MAT,  XAT,  CAT,  NMAT,  CMAT,  GMAT and CUET. The 2024 CAT cutoff is yet to be released for admission to Amity University. NMAT scorecard is compiled of scaled and percentile scores. Here is the basic difference between scaled scores and percentile scores in NMAT exam- Scaled Scores - The test forms are equated to account for any difference in the overall difficulty and the raw test scores are normalised on a common scale to arrive at scaled scores. Percentile Score - The percentile rank or score is an indicator of score/rank of the candidate as compared to the score/rank of all the other test-takers. NMAT participating institute may accept any of the scores for admission based on NMAT exam.

Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the conducting body of NMAT exam, do not release the NMAT cutoff scores or percentile. The cutoff scores are released by the NMAT participating institutes at the time of the admission process. For NMAT exam conducted from October 10 to December 19, the MBA admission process at participating b-schools typically start from the month of November. While some b-schools also conduct the NMAT based MBA admission process from the month of February in the subsequent admission cycle.

The cut-offs of different colleges are different so once the colleges decide on the NMAT cutoffs they will officially release the set level of cut off individually. However, for reference purposes, they can check the past year NMAT cut-offs to understand the level of a particular college.

NMAT cut off score is the minimum score or marks required for shortlisting the candidate for admission or admission rounds. In simple words mean, the cutoff scores help in the screening process by which candidates can be shortlisted for further selection rounds, including the Group Discussion (GD)/Case Discussion (CD) and Personal Interview. The cut-offs list is determined by each participating college; therefore the minimum marks/ percentage required to for selection differs across different participating institutes.
