TANCET Toppers 2023: Anna University released the TANCET 2023 results on April 14. Soon the names of TANCET toppers will be published online by different regional news handles. Alternatively, the official list of TANCET toppers will be out with the rank lists. TANCET rank lists are released before the counselling process. With the release of the TANCET rank list, candidates will be able to check the list of TANCET toppers with names. Both MBA and MCA courses will have a separate rank list, i.e. course wise TANCET topper list, issued at the TANCET counselling portal. The TANCET rank list includes rank, registration number, name, marks (percentile score), date of birth, community and community rank.
In 2023, a total of 36,403 candidates were issued the TANCET admit card for MBA and MCA; however, only 32,023 candidates took the exam on March 25. TANCET rank list will be prepared for all the test takers who get their documents verified during the TN MBA admission process. Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, will release the rank lists after start if the admission process, with the rank list release, complete list of TANCET toppers will be out. Anna University exam dates change every year. In the past two exam sessions, Anna University has been conducting the TANCET exam in March for MBA and MCA courses. Anna University maintained the exam schedule in line with the previous session. The complete schedule, including answer key release and result dates, was announced in due course.

How to Check TANCET 2023 Rank List?
Candidates can find the TANCET rank lists on the official counselling portal. The stepwise process to check the TANCET rank lists is as follows:
1st Step: Visit the official counselling portal for TN MBA admission, tn-mbamca.com
2nd Step: Access the rank list drop-down menu from the sidebar
3rd Step: Click on the rank list with relevant course (MBA/MCA) and category (differently abled/general)
4th Step: A PDF file will pop-up in a new window, press ctrl f function to find your name in the TANCET 2023 rank list.
Commonly asked questions
The authorities at the TANCET exam centre will not allow any late comers to appear in the TANCET exam. Applicants appearing for the exam are advised to arrive at test centre at least 60 minutes before the exam commencement time. Officials at the TANCET exam centre check the identity of the candidates before allowing them to enter the test location. Candidates should enter inside the TANCET exam centre before the GATE closing time. Besides the late entry, officials at the exam centre do not allow the candidates to leave the exam centre before the schedule time of exam conclusion.
TANCET 2024 was held on March 9 in an offline mode. Whereas, TANCET 2023 exam was conducted on March 25 in an offline mode. Initially, Anna University notified the exam date for TANCET 2023 as February 25 and 26. However, later, a change in exam name for engineering courses was seen, which led to postponement of the TANCET exam date. TANCET M.Tech exam is now known as CEETA PG. However, the website for both TANCET and CEETA PG remains the same, TANCET. Annauniv. Edu.

Allotment of TANCET 2023 Ranks
DTE, Chennai allots TANCET ranks based on the candidate's percentile score. The rank list also hosts the community rank of the candidate. TANCET community rank is allotted on the basis of score of the candidate in their community. TANCET percentile score is directly proportional to the rank awarded to the candidate. The highest scorer gets rank #1 during the TANCET rank list preparation. Similarly, the second-highest scorer will get a rank #2 and so on.

How to Calculate TANCET Score (Percentile)?
Anna University evaluates the performance of the candidate to calculate the actual score using the marking scheme. Further, the percentile score is calcuilated after evaluating the number of test takers with less score and total number of test takers. TANCET percentile score indicates the comparative performance of the candidate, while the TANCET actual score indicates the individual performance of the candidate.
Anna University evaluates the TANCET percentile score using the following formula:

- Y denotes the total number of test takers with a lower score
- N denotes the total number of test takers in TANCET exam
TANCET Rank Allotment in Cases of Tie: Tie Breaking Criteria
TANCET rank allocation is done based on the percentile score. Two test takers with an identical percentile score can land in a situation of a tie. DTE, Chennai, will allot the TANCET rank by following the below mentioned chronological process:
- Candidates with a higher average percentage of marks from the first semester to the second last semester of the qualifying degree are preferred during the rank allotment.
- In case those two candidates have identical scores in the qualifying degree exam, rank allotment will be done based on age. The older candidate will be preferred while rank allotment.

No, you can not join Anna University without appearing for an entrance exam if you want admission to the MBA/PGDM course. Students can either take the CAT or MAT exam, attain a valid percentile and then proceed to the next round.
