TANCET 2026 Important Topics

To score well in the TANCET exam, candidates must focus on the following high-weightage and foundational topics:

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Focus on foundational arithmetic topics. The most important areas include Percentages, Averages, Ratios and Proportions, Profit and Loss, Simple and Compound Interest, time, speed, and distance, and Time and Work.

  • General English: "Spot the Error" questions carry a maximum weightage in this section. Candidates must study basic grammar, articles, prepositions, conjunctions, and sentence formation. Building a strong vocabulary for synonyms and antonyms is also recommended.

  • Reading Comprehension: Practice reading various passages. This section has passages with five questions each. The key to success in both Reading Comprehension and Business Situations is strong and fast reading skills.

  • Data Sufficiency: Thoroughly study quantitative aptitude concepts and practice logical deduction, as Data Sufficiency does not require finding the exact answer, but rather determining if the provided statements (1) and (2) contain enough data to solve the question.

  • Analytical and Logical Reasoning: Although formally part of Data Sufficiency and basic math sections in the MBA paper, practising topics like Blood Relations, Coding-Decoding, Seating Arrangements, Distance and Direction, and Clocks and Calendars is crucial for solving puzzle-based questions rapidly.
