What after IIFT result 2022?

IIFT 2023 result has been declared today. As soon as the candidates will download their IIFT scorecard, they will start assessing their chances of getting the interview call from the prestigious B-School, those who score well, they will have to prepare for the next round of IIFT admission. But those who haven't been able to perform as per the expectation they will have to start assessing other options.

First of all, aspirants must check the previous years’ IIFT cut offs for admission to see whether they will be able to make it to the next round of MBA admission. The IIFT admission process includes Extempore and Personal Interview (PI).

To prepare for IIFT Extempore and PI, now is the time to start as this round will be held in February end or early March. Earlier, the institute used to conduct Essay Writing and Group Discussion along with PI, but due to the pandemic the two have been replaced with Extempore. The schedule for this round of IIFT admission will be shared with the shortlisted candidates.

IIFT, Delhi releases overall and sectional cut offs for admission every year. The IIFT cut offs form the basis on which the candidates are selected for the second round of admission process which is EW/GD/PI. Check out overall IIFT 2022 cut off below. How to Prepare for IIFT Essay Writing, GD and PI

Essay Writing: In the Essay Writing round, candidates have to write a short essay (of about 300 words) on a current topic. Total time allotted for essay Writing is 20 minute – 5 minutes to think and 15 minutes to write. The topics are usually from the field of economics, business and sociology. Sometimes, the topic can be abstract too. Given below are some Essay Witting topics of IIFT admissions in the past few years.

Group Discussion: The Group Discussion round of IIFT is usually of 30 minutes. In this round, a group of about 8-10 students is given a topic to discuss. A few minutes preparation time is given to the group after which every participant has to speak on the topic for one minute in which each candidate is supposed to share their points they wish to discuss. After that, the floor is thrown open for everybody to discuss.

Extempore: Candidates are given a topic to speak on for a few minutes during which they will have to make a convincing speech on the topic. They may want to speak for or against the topic or share an overall summary. However, they will have to be precise and factual in their claim. The panel will judge their communication skills, convincing ability and clarity of thoughts.

Personal Interview: In this round, the candidates usually face questions based on the information they have shared in their CV. The candidates can expect, questions like “why MBA”, “why IIFT” and “tell us about yourself”. Be calm, confident and give interesting answers. Show your interesting side and know your prospective college (IIFT) well and communicate your career goal clearly.

IIFT exam is conducted for admission to only one institute, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. So, what should an IIFT test taker do if he hasn’t been able to make it to this top-rated B-School. They need not lose heart. They can opt for other MBA entrance exams such as XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAH CET, SPJAT, etc.  

IIFT exam is conducted in December and a number of entrance exams are conducted from January to May. So, those who could not get through IIFT can opt for other top MBA colleges in India through MAT, CMAT, ATMA and other entrance exams.
