Writing Skill Assessment

In the WAT round, the candidates are given a topic to pen their thoughts in about 200 words. The emphasis is on sharing opinion lucidly. Be to the point and direct in addressing the topic. Candidates are divided in groups of eight. Each group is given a topic from business, economics, politics or society, This round is of 20 minutes (5 minutes to think, 15 minutes to write). The WAT was not conducted in last two years due to COVID-19.

Group Discussion/Extempore

In the GD round, a group of 8-10 candidates is given a topic to discuss. The GD begins with each candidate introducing themselves and sharing their opinion on the topic. Once all have spoken, the floor is left open for everyone to discuss. The total time limit of this round is 30 minutes.

If the institute decides to conduct extempore instead of a GD, the candidates will have to speak on a given topic. The candidates will be expected to present a logical and convincing argument on the given topic by mentioning pros and cons, etc.

Personal Interview

The PI is a personality assessment round, in which candidates interact with admission panel. They are asked questions related to their work experience, education, etc. but the focus remains on assessing the candidate’s communication ability, presence of mind and problem solving skills.
