While NEET 2021 is scheduled to be conducted on August 1, NTA is yet to release any update on the application procedure or on the possible postponement of the exam. Know what the major concerns of the NEET 2021 aspirants are here in this article.

NEET 2021 Aspirants Seek Clarity on Exam Status

NEET 2021 Aspirants Seek Clarity on Exam Status

NEET 2021 exam date is scheduled to be conducted on August 1, and this was announced by National Testing Agency (NTA) on March 12. It was expected that the NEET 2021 application process will commence by April end or early May. The pandemic situation of the country has witnessed a sharp rise in the number of COVID-19 cases since then and it has resulted in the deferment of several national level entrance exams such as JEE Main, NEET PG, INI CET, UPSC, Board Exams, to name a few. While an official notification on the postponement has provided candidates with assurance, or at least an update on what to expect, NEET UG 2021 candidates have been kept in dark ever since the announcement of the exam.

Anxiety over the ambiguous situation looms large among the NEET UG aspirants owing to the paucity of information or any communication from the officials. Candidates find it difficult to concentrate on their NEET preparation owing to the lack of clarity on whether the exam will be conducted on the slated date and if so, then whether they will get enough time to apply for the exam. Students are taking to various social media platforms to share their pangs with the hope to get those addressed.

Release Important Dates and Application Form

At present, the aspirants are still in dark about the event-wise dates of NEET 2021. While half of May has already passed, NTA has still not released the information bulletin or the NEET  application form. While there have been announcements regarding the postponed schedule of exam and application process for other national-level entrance exams, there has not been any update on NEET, which is causing even more anxiety among the students.

One of the aspirants took to Twitter to share his angst, “There is still no official announcement regarding postponing NEET UG 2021, dates are set as 1st August. With COVID positive patients in our house and many students themselves being tested positive, we are facing mental stress due to this uncertainty.”

Another Tweet says, “So we have to wait till June for NEET 2021 application dates? Until a decision on conducting 12th Boards come… Can’t we know about that early? How much more should we wait?”

Sample another one.

Aspirants Demand Postponing of NEET 2021

Several aspirants have requested for postponing the NEET 2021 exam and the reason which majority of the candidates have sought this is the rising number of COVID-19 cases across India. Since the exam will be held on a single-day window and over around 16 lakh candidates appear for the test every year, it would not be safe to conduct the exam at this stage.

Rafat, a Medical aspirant shared his anxiety with Shiksha. He said, “The new strain of coronavirus is more dangerous than last year and the number of casualties is also higher across age groups. My family members are suffering from Covid and I would not feel safe to go out and take the test in August.”

Sharing his thoughts on why NEET 2021 should be postponed, Ram, an aspirant said, “NEET 2021 should be postponed because it is important to conduct board exam of class 12 first. There should be at least one month gap between board exam and NEET exam so that we can prepare for it properly.”

Aspirants are also tweeting their request to NTA and HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank to postpone NEET 2021 from August 1.

Balancing NEET Preparation with Board Exam

Another area of concern among the candidates is to balance preparation with Board exams. Since majority of the Board exams are also postponed until further notice, students are even more confused without a concrete schedule or plan at hand. This is leading to further stress and anxiety over students.

Sir please do something for students. Because we are in too much pressure. I'm the NEET aspirant and can't focus on my comparative preparation due to board pressure,” a student has stated on Twitter.

Another student has tweeted sharing concerns about balancing Board exam and entrance exam preparation, along with safety concerns.

Given the current scenario, it is expected that NEET aspirants can expect some headway by the fourth week of May or the first week of June. Last year, the NEET 2020 dates were announced on May 5 and the exam was conducted on September 13. Hence, there is a slight possibility that the NEET 2021 exam might get postponed to mid-September. By then, the COVID scenario may also improve which will boost confidence among the test takers.

No, NEET is compulsory for BDS admission anywhere in India, including Bangalore. No dental college, private or government, can admit students without a valid NEET score. Some students get confused because management or NRI quota seats seem easier, but NEET qualification is still mandatory. So if you

No, there's no backdoor here. Candidates willing to get admitted to undergraduate dental courses need to qualify the NEET exam, which is the national entrance test for BDS admission. Whether you're applying to a government or a top private college, NEET is non-negotiable.

Yes, candidates can easily get into the BPharm programme without clearing the NEET exam. The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) in Gujarat mainly uses the state-level entrance exam, GUJCET, to prepare the merit list. While candidates can use their NEET scores as an alternative optio

No, NEET is not an important requirement for BPT at Dr. D.Y. Patil College of Physiotherapy. You just need to score the required marks in Class 12 and in AIAHCET. However, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English are compulsory subjects. If any student who has a NEET score card, still needs to give A

Not always, and this is something most students don't realise. NEET is not mandatory for GNM admission, since it's a Diploma course handled through state nursing council exams or merit-based selection. NEET is mainly needed for BSc Nursing in many colleges, so your path depends on which course you p
