NBE has urged the supreme court to allow the revised pattern for NEET SS 2021. It has also requested the court that the exam can be deferred in January so that candidates get more time to prepare as per the new pattern for NEET SS 2021.
The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has urged the Supreme Court to postpone NEET SS 2021 exam in January so that aspirants get enough time for preparation. The exam is scheduled to be held on November 13 & November 14. In an affidavit, NBE has also requested the court to allow them to conduct the exam according to the revised pattern for NEET SS 2021.

The affidavit was filed in reply to the petition by a group of doctors challenging the revised NEET SS pattern 2021. NBE said the new pattern was introduced to bring more flexibility for the students and to ensure they are tested on the basis of the courses they already know. NBE requested the court to defer the exam to January 10 & 11 so that students can get more time to prepare as per the revised pattern.
The plea against the revised pattern has been filed by 41 PG doctors, opposing the 'Last Minute' changes in Exam Pattern. In the petition, they said that exam dates were announced way earlier while the pattern was introduced later on when the time duration for commencement of the exam was only two months away.
As per the earlier patter, 60% marks questions were asked from the super specialty course while 40 % from the feeder courses. As per the proposed exam pattern for NEET SS 2021, questions will be from general medicine only.
NEET SS or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Super Speciality Courses) is conducted by the National Board of Education for admission to various DM/ MCh courses. It is a qualifying-cum-ranking examination. NBE started registration for NEET SS 2021 on September 22. The last date to submit NEET SS application form 2021 is October 12.
