Prepare for NEET by keeping the scoring pattern in mind and revising the syllabus to get high scores in the exam.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is one of the difficult entrance exams for admission in the prestigious medical colleges across the country. Also, apart from government institutes good private universities consider NEET score for admission.
During the last month of the preparation period, the students often get stressed and nervous. They should focus on keeping their spirits high and continue working towards achieving their goals.
The students must work on enhancing their speed and accuracy during the preparation. Also, they should stay away from social media and social networking sites as these lead to wastage of time.
Explore colleges based on NEET
During the last month, students should focus on the revision, write mock tests, and solve previous year papers as much as possible. Avoid referring several reference books for preparation, instead refer to short notes prepared while going through a topic. In case of any doubts, consult with seniors and teacher and get the same solved on time.
For revision, start with NCERT books syllabus and thoroughly read all the chapters, particularly for Biology (Class 11 and 12) again. This would help in identifying the topics that require attention. To save time, refer to short notes for revision.
My Experience
During my preparation for NEET, I focussed more on Biology and Chemistry. In Biology, I only referred to NCERT books and hand-made notes during the last days of preparation. Also, initially, I referred to Trueman's Elementary as well.
As far as Chemistry was concerned, I thoroughly read the chapters, that I thought was important and covered topics such as Chemistry in Everyday Life, Periodic Table, Biomolecules, etc.
For Physics, I did not pay much attention to the new topics and rather I revised the topics, which I had prepared for the JEE Main exam.
Subject-wise Key Topics
For Physics and Chemistry, students must focus on working on their strength, i.e. practise important topics in which you are confident. Also, practise and solve as many numerical problems as possible and avoid making silly mistakes.
Practise more questions of topics such as Optics, Electromagnetism, Laws of Motion, Friction, in Physics and Atomic Structure, Equilibrium, Electro Chemistry, Periodic Table, Chemistry in Everyday Life in Chemistry
The reserve category candidates should target a minimum of 500 marks and the general category candidates must target over 570 to get a seat in counselling.
To increase the chances of getting a seat, candidates must score over 290 in Biology. In the exam, first solve the Biology section and then proceed to the Physics or Chemistry sections.
