Physics

Solve more and more questions . Do as many questions as possible because in Physics there is much more to practice than to learn. Physics involves a lot of applied concepts and regular practice is the only way of getting them cleared. As you go through the previous question papers and solve questions from all the resources at your disposal, you'll be able to create your own tricks and tips to solve them faster. These tips & tricks will save your time and give you confidence on the day of the exam.

In addition, you will come across a wide variety of questions and the multiple ways in which an easy question be twisted to make it appear tricky. However, if you practice such questions beforehand and your concepts are strong, Physics can prove to be a very strong subject. Make figures for the tricky questions since there are lot of things that appear complex if you read them but converting them into a figure provides a clear view of the question asked. I would personally suggest Arihant books for Physics as they provide an overview of the chapters and provide a wide variety of questions for review.

Chemistry

Practice Organic Chemistry by solving as many questions as possible. If you are taking coaching from Aakash, Allen or any other notable coaching institution then they provide plenty of resources and questions. My suggestion would be Universal Self Scorer Errorless Chemistry. Although the book is quite monotonous, the amount and variety of questions it offers are something you will not find in other books. Inorganic chemistry is more about understanding concepts so make your foundation strong and don't miss any concept because everything is interlinked and if you don't have a strong base then everything will become complex. Just be consistent.

Biology

This is supposed to be your highest scoring subject. The thing about Biology is that there are just facts, which you have to learn and frequent revision will help you get through. Read everything from the NCERT, line by line, such that the topics would be on your tips. 90 percent of the questions are asked directly from the NCERT. In addition, you do not have too much of calculations here so it will definitely save your time while fetching you good marks. Do not try to get into detailed revision of every topic (unless you are interested) because in NEET, the questions will be straightforward. You just need to revise what you have already studied rather than studying a new topic every time.

If you are preparing for NEET along with your 12th standard board exam, you’ll have an added advantage for both the exams. Both your preparations will complement each other. The questions you will solve while preparing for NEET will make your applied learning strong while the derivations & diagrams you will prepare for board examination will make you basic concepts more clear. You do not need to worry, just be consistent and you will score well in both the examinations.

Revision Strategy

The best way to revise what you have studied is to take mock tests. Join any good test series—online or offline, as per your convenience. It will help you adapt to the pressure situation of any examination setup. You will learn about time management and the type of questions you are comfortable solving. Read NCERT textbooks, especially Biology one as many times as you can. Be consistent with your studies and avoid distractions.

Time management during the examination-

This is a crucial aspect of any competitive exam. No matter whether you are a prodigy or not, if you don’t manage your three hours of exam in a judicious way, you cannot clear the exam. Here are a few points to keep in mind while appearing for the exam:

  1. Hard questions = Easy questions. This is not any mathematical equation but if you keep this concept in your mind, you will be able to score good marks. As each question carries equal marks, try to solve those questions first which you are confident about and would not involve too many calculations in the process.
  2. Do not get stuck with one question. Solving a tough question will not fetch you extra marks for your efforts. If you are stuck for long on one question, you are wasting your time and the opportunity to score extra marks from other questions.
  3. Begin with the subject you feel confident about. However, it is better to begin with Biology usually.
  4. Go through the entire question paper once. Do not panic if you are not able to solve some questions. First, have an overview of the entire paper and then after the initial round go back to the questions you left in between.
  5. Use the tricks you developed while practicing for complex calculations.
