What is NEET 2022 Bonus Marks?
While checking the NEET official answer keys 2022, candidates must have come across some questions for which the correct answer option is stated as 5. This refers that either the question was wrong or none of the answer keys was correct. In such a scenario, NTA will give four marks to each student irrespective of the answer option selected by him/her. For this reason, such questions or answer keys are termed ‘bonus questions'.
Who Will Get Bonus Marks in NEET 2022?
There are two scenarios in this which would determine whether a candidate would be eligible for the bonus marks or not. As per the first scenario, the question would have two or more answer options as correct. In this case, only those candidates who attempted this would get full marks.
On the other hand, there may be a situation where none of the answer options is correct, or the question is incorrect. In this case, all candidates, irrespective of whether they have attempted the question or not, will be given full marks for the question.
Why Candidates Cannot Submit Challenges Against NEET 2022 Bonus Questions?
If NTA has mentioned the NEET 2022 answer key of a particular question as 5, this means that NTA has accepted that the question or answer options are wrong, or multiple options are correct. In that case, submitting challenges would be redundant.
For this reason, NTA has disabled the answer key challenge options for such questions so that candidates do not lose INR 200 on this. Candidates who have been trying to challenge this must note this and do not try again as it would be a futile exercise.
The NEET 2022 answer key and OMR sheets were released by NTA on August 31. The fee for filing objections against NEET answer keys and OMR sheet responses is INR 200 for each question. The NEET 2022 result will be declared on September 7. NEET 2022 was conducted on July 17.
