NEET 2025 Exam Dates: Check Counselling Schedule (Revised), Registration & Result Dates

NEET 2025 counselling started on July 21, 2025, and the last date is November 5, 2025. The total duration of NEET counselling depends on the number of seats lying vacant at the end of each round. Before each round of counselling, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) releases the seat matrix or seat vacancy list. Once all the seats are filled, the counselling process of NEET will be considered complete. In general, the NEET UG counselling process ranges from two to three months. The duration of each round is around two to three weeks. The duration for the first two rounds is higher than that of the last two rounds. The last date may be extended based on the seat vacancy. 

According to NTA a candidate can appear for NEET any number of times. There is no restriction on the number of attempts permitted. Moreover, ever since the upper age limit of NEET has been removed, there is even more flexibility in terms of the number of NEET attempts.

The exam is conducted once a year, hence candidates can appear only once in an academic year. But unless candidates fulfil the eligibility criteria, they would not be able to get admission even if they score the qualifying cutoff marks for NEET.

Although earlier NTA was mulling the idea of conducting NEET twice a year, now it has been confirmed that the exam will be held only once a year in a paper-pencil based mode. NTA communicated this information through an RTI response where it was stated that NEET will be conducted once a year. This has quashed the possibility of conducting NEET twice a year. However, the NTA expert committee headed by ISRO Chief K. Radhakrishnan has recommended conducting NEET twice a year, but there has not been any official confirmation on it yet. 

The NEET exam date is decided by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam conducting body, on behalf of the Ministry of Education. NTA decides the NEET exam date after analysing several internal and external factors such as the previous year's exam date, Board exams and other entrance exam dates, elections, festivals, to name a few. 

The NEET 2025 registration process commenced on February 7, 2025, in the evening hours. The last date to complete the registration process is March 7, 2025, 11.50 PM, exactly a month after the commencement. However, based on student requests, NTA will either extend the last date of registration, or reopen the window after the stipulated date. Registration is the first step of application wherein candidates have to enter the basic details, validate the OTP and create password. In the NEET application process, candidates have to login with their credentials and then fill up the form, upload documents and pay the application fee of NEET 2025.  

The NEET 2025 exam was conducted on May 4, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM. NTA announced the exam date through an official notice along with the application form on February 7, 2025. 

NTA has released the NEET advance intimation to exam city slip on April 23, 2025. The document has to be downloaded online by logging in to the exam website with the registration credentials. The advance intimation to exam city slip carries the name of the city where candidates' NEET exam centre will be located. The actual exam centre address will be provided on the NEET admit card, which will be released on or before May 1, 2025. 

Although the NEET exam is scheduled from 2 PM to 5 PM, the array of activities are scheduled since morning. The following table brings the activity-wise schedule for NEET exam. 

Unlike previous years, the entry to the NEET 2025 exam centre will begin three hours before the commencement of the exam, at 11 AM. Till last year, the entry gates opened at 11.30 AM. 

The National Testing Agency announced the NEET 2025 result on June 14, 2025. The NEET 2025 final answer key was released on the same date. Last year, the date of NEET result declaration was June 14, but the result was announced 10 days in advance, on June 4, 2024. 

The NEET 2025 OMR response sheet was released on June 3, 2025. Within this, candidates can check their OMR sheets or response sheets where they had marked answers in. In case of any discrepancy on the response sheet, candidates could submit obections or challenges to NTA by June 5, 2025, 11.50 PM. Along with the OMR sheet, NTA also released the provisional NEET answer keys. Candidates could submit objections against either or both documents. They could also calculate the estimated scores by crosschecking their responses on the NEET OMR sheet and the answer keys.
