The NTA released the NEET 2026 notification on February 8, 2026 along with the information bulletin. As per the bulletin, there are some changes in the application process. Have a look at the changes introduced in the application process below-

Live Photo Capture

Candidates now need to capture their live photo on the NEET form. The live photo should be uploaded in a light-coloured background. The NTA will match the live photo uploaded by candidates with their Aadhaar database. In case of discrepancy, candidates need to verify their identity by uploading a signed and attested certificate with a recent photograph duly certified by their School or College Principal or Headmaster.

Stronger Identity Verification through Aadhaar

The NTA is asking candidates to register for the exam through their Aadhaar. Candidate’s identity will be verified through Aadhaar authentication. Moreover, those registering for the exam using ID proof other than the Aadhaar Card need to submit additional documents to verify their identity. To avoid this, candidates can opt for Aadhaar-enabled applications. Candidates need to make sure that their Aadhaar is valid and duly updated.

Selection of Exam Cities Based on Present & Permanent Address

The NEET exam centre 2026 will be spread across 566 cities. Candidates need to select three exam cities based on the address details mentioned by them in the application form. Moreover, the NEET question paper medium will be available as per their respective state. Candidates must choose the exam city based on the question paper language they want to opt for.
