IIT Kanpur Elevates C3iHub to Technology Translational Research Park Status
IIT Kanpur has upgraded its C3iHub, to the status of a Technology Translational Research Park (TTRP), marking a significant step towards accelerating the translation into real-world technological solutions.
The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur’s C3iHub has been upgraded to a Technology Translational Research Park (TTRP) by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. Among the select institutions chosen under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS), C3iHub has been designated to host one of these prestigious TTRPs with a dedicated focus on cybersecurity.
This recognition follows a rigorous evaluation by the Mission Governing Board of NM-ICPS, which approved IIT Kanpur’s proposal for its strategic vision and capabilities in cybersecurity. The TTRP at IIT Kanpur will drive the development of cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies, foster deep-tech startups, and strengthen industry-academia collaboration to translate research into real-world impact.
This announcement was made during a review meeting by the Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh. This development India’s commitment to advancing cutting-edge technological innovations for both societal and commercial applications.
The TTRP initiative is aimed at transforming cutting-edge research into market-ready solutions. By upgrading existing Technology Innovation Hubs (TIHs) like C3iHub into Technology Translational Research Parks, the Department of Science and Technology (DST) seeks to strengthen collaboration between academia, industry, and startups, fostering a more robust innovation ecosystem.

The enhanced support will further accelerate the translation of cutting-edge research into impactful, market-ready solutions and strengthen our role in advancing national cybersecurity capabilities. As a Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS), C3iHub has been at the forefront of enhancing national cybersecurity by safeguarding critical infrastructure, ensuring data privacy and integrity, and monitoring emerging cyber threats. With its elevation to a Technology Translational Research Park (TTRP), C3iHub is poised to drive cutting-edge innovation in cybersecurity advancing research, empowering deep-tech startups, and nurturing the next generation of talent.
IIT Kanpur offers MBA via Department of Management Sciences (DoMS). The MBA course of the institute has been ranked by various agencies. Under the 'Management Category', NIRF ranked IIT Kanpur at 23rd position in 2023 rankings. Business Today also ranked IIT Kanpur at 32 position. Talking about placements, IIT Kanpur highest package recorded for MBA was INR 24 LPA. The median CTC was INR 17.25 LPA.
In Summer Placement (2022-24), the highest stipend offered to students was INR 17.01 lakh whereas, median stipend was INR 1 lakh.
