IIT Kanpur’s SIIC Showcases VU Dynamics, xTerra Robotics, and Ananant Systems as Leaders in Tech Innovation

The Start-up Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) at IIT Kanpur highlighted the achievements of three start-ups: VU Dynamics, xTerra Robotics, and Ananant Systems. SIIC, renowned for its leadership in fostering innovative start-ups, provides an ecosystem that nurtures cutting-edge ventures with the support of IIT Kanpur. The featured start-ups are at the forefront of developing transformative technologies across critical sectors such as defence, robotics, and semiconductor infrastructure.
Prof. Deepu Philip, Professor-in-Charge of SIIC at IIT Kanpur, praised the impact of these start-ups, stating, “The start-ups incubated at SIIC are developing cutting-edge technologies that address some of the most pressing challenges of our time. From defense applications to automation in hazardous industries and the essential infrastructure for next-generation connectivity, these ventures embody the spirit of innovation and emphasise IIT Kanpur’s commitment to fostering impactful solutions for the benefit of the country and society at large.”
VU Dynamics
Founded in 2022, VU Dynamics is revolutionizing aerial platforms for both defence and civilian uses. Co-founders Dr. Subrahmanyam Saderla and Dr. Sravanthi Saderla showcased their flight lab and the company’s advanced aerial systems. With strong roots in IIT Kanpur's R&D, VU Dynamics specializes in cutting-edge UAVs, simulation modules, and surveillance systems. Their Kamikaze UAVs, with a 100 km range, are designed for tactical military support, while other UAVs provide civilian solutions such as digital terrain models and subsurface mapping.
xTerra Robotics
xTerra Robotics is leading the charge in robotics innovation in India, addressing complex challenges in robot locomotion within difficult 3D environments. CEO Aditya Pratap Singh Rajawat, alongside Co-founders Professor Shakti S Gupta, Nimesh Khandelwal, Avinash Bhaskar, and Amritanshu Manu, showcased the company’s advancements through a live demonstration of the Svan robot. This quadruped robot, designed for hazardous tasks in environments like oil and gas, power plants, and mining, highlights robotics' potential to improve safety and efficiency.
Ananant Systems
Ananant Systems is a forward-thinking leader in the semiconductor and wireless systems sectors, focused on advancing connectivity, computing, and security solutions for 5G and future 6G infrastructure. Founder Dr. Chitranjan Singh shared the company’s progress in developing indigenous, high-performance solutions to address India’s growing semiconductor needs. Specializing in chip design and semiconductor products, Ananant Systems is currently working on a scalable, software-defined modem intended for deployment in 5G and 6G base stations.
