The IIT JAM 2026 admit cards can now be downloaded from the official portal for admission to the MSc course. Further, the IIT JAM exam 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on Feb 15, 2026.
The NIMCET 2026 application form is anticipated to be available in April 2026 for admission to the MCA course.
The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech courses will be conducted from Feb 7, 2026 to Feb 8, 2026, and then from Feb 14, 2026 to Feb 15, 2026.

NIT Raipur - National Institute of Technology Highlights 2025

NIT Raipur was earlier known as the Government Engineering College Raipur. It was founded in 1956. It has 58+ courses, few of them are accredited by the NBA and approved by AICTE. Ranked 86th by NIRF 2025 among all the NITs in the Engineering category. It has signed MoUs with various companies and organisations. The collaborations of the institute include Cold Forge, Faridabad, and Jayaswal Neco Industries Limited, etc.

Theinstitute offers BTech, BArch, BPlan and dual degree courses include at the UG level. MPlan, MTech, MBA, MCA and MSc programmes at the PG level. The BTech branches include several branches such as Computer Science & Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Chemical Engineering, among others. Nice infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: I am Prachi, from Bhilai (CG). I am a student of NIT Raipur, Biotech branch. The placement in our course is not as good as it appears on online websites. Last year, only 4 students got placed in the whole class because no company visits for the biotech field. The highest package was 17 LPA in Biotechnology.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good for me. There is a sports complex in our college where students can play whatever they want. There is a library and Wi-Fi available for students to use if they want. The hostel facilities are up to the mark, and the mess food is also hygienic. One star is cut because of hostel shortage.

Faculty: The faculty members of our branch are all highly talented and qualified in their respective fields. There are 3 exams, including practical exams: 1 mid-semester, 1 end-semester, and 1 practical exam.

Other: I chose this because I was getting only this college as I belong to CG.

The college is not that good for lower branches.

Placements: Hello, this is Amogh Srivastava, B.Tech in Biotech, 2nd Semester. The placements of our college are pretty good as compared to other colleges. It provides great opportunities to the students who are interested in Non-Core fields. But the placement in Biotech is too low. The highest package offered in the college was around 57 LPA, and the average package is 9-10 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is not the best. As compared to Tier 1 NITs, it comes under Tier 2 NITs. Most of the students are from Chhattisgarh, as NITs have home state quota. There is a library where Wi-Fi is available and smart boards in the classroom. The hostel food quality is good, but it has a shortage of hostel space.

Faculty: Teachers are absolutely helpful. In terms of qualification, a few of them have done their Bachelor Degree or Master’s Degree from IITs and NITs themselves. Our course makes students ready for the industries. There are 2 exams per semester: 1 Mid-sem and 1 End-sem.

Other: I opted for this course because it was the last option I was getting.

A short summary of NIT Raipur's teaching.

Placements: About 80 to 85 percent of students from my branch (Electronic and Communication Engineering) got placements. Top recruiters are from major tech giants like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, PhonePe, Oracle, Deloitte, etc. Many students got internships (about 70-75 percent).

Infrastructure: Our college infrastructure is quite old, but it is still very much new and still one of the best. Almost all classes, rooms, and hostels have Wi-Fi. Even classrooms have a smart board. There are many sports clubs to join, and even NCC is there. So many sports events happen here.

Faculty: Faculty members are very nice and helpful. They are well-qualified to teach, as most of them are from NITs and IITs. Some of them are PhD holders, so the teaching quality is very high. The course curriculum is highly relevant to what is used in real life, as most of the stuff still used in telecom is taught here.

Review of a South Indian At NIT Raipur.

Placements: Placements in our college are good for the higher branches, but they are very low for the lower branches, like biotechnology engineering, biomedical engineering, and civil engineering. Only a few students get placed every year. Out of 80 last year, only 4 students got placed. The highest package offered in our course is 17 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good in our college. It provides limited resources in sports, but that is sufficient for us. I belong to the South region of India, Andhra Pradesh. I have some issues with Hindi, so I do not get connected to our college students.

Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified. Most of them have done their M.Tech or PhD from IITs. I have heard that they have been teaching for 20 years at this college. It is a national institute. There are 2 exams per semester, i.e., mid-semester and end-semester. The mid-semester is of 30 marks, and end-semester is of 50 marks. The pass percentage is 35 percent. Professors are good in our branch.

Other: I chose this course because I was not getting anything in any NIT.

A comprehensive review of NIT Raipur. It is a must-read for aspirants.

Placements: From my branch (computer science), about 85 percent of students got placements. The highest package offered is 60 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 4 LPA. The average package offered is 14 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Google, Amazon, Phonepay, Oracle, etc. About 75-80 percent of students from my branch got internships.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is almost everywhere on my campus. Even in classrooms, there are smart boards to teach. Food is very tasty every day of the week, and there is something different to eat. It is very healthy too.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. Most of them are from NITs and IITs themselves, which means they have excellent knowledge, which is why they teach very well. The course curriculum is very relevant to the current industry as the CS core for every other company. The difficulty level of exams is quite high. The pass percentage is 35 percent. Faculty members are very nice. It feels like home around these people and teachers. The student-to-faculty ratio is 1:20, which is high.

My simple life at NIT Raipur.

Placements: Placements of our branch are good. It has around 90 percent placements. The highest package offered in my course is 29 LPA, and the average package offered is 9 LPA. Bharat Petroleum is one of the top recruiting companies for our course. Many students got an internship opportunity in our course.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not as good as that of other tier 1 and NITs, but better than that of other tier 3 government or private colleges. We have a smart board in our classrooms. There is Wi-Fi in our college, and we can use it. There is a library with many books.

Faculty: Teachers are absolutely helpful. They solve our doubt (if any) whenever we ask them. They are highly qualified. Many of them have graduated from IITs and NITs. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Our college exams are of a moderate level. The pass percentage is 35 percent.

Other: I chose this college because I am interested in this course.
