AIL LET 2026 Application Form: Direct Link, Fees & How to Edit

The address of the AIL LET exam centre will be mentioned on the admit card. It will also provide exam day guidelines. Carry a valid Id proof for identification.

There are three main categories of candidates under the Wards of Army Personel in the AIL LET eligibility. The applicants accordingly must fall under one of the following categories:

(a) Army Personnel ( Certificate No. I)

(b) Adopted/Step Ward and Ward of Remarried Widows (Certificate No. I & II)

(c) Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases (Certificate No. III)

The AIL LET Application Process has not started yet. It is likely to start in March. All the details will be announced in the AIL LET Notification. 

Candidates who meet the following criteria come under the Wards of All India General Category Other than Punjab Residents in AIL LET eligibility criteria:

(a) Children of citizens of India or persons of Indian origin, who intend to settle permanently in India and have obtained citizenship before admission to AIL

(b) Residential Proof: Domicile Certificate of the state to which student belongs (other than from the state of Punjab)

The AIL LET Exam is comparatively easier than the CLAT. While CLAT is held for NLUs, the AIL LET Exam is only for Army Institute of Law. Hence, the competition and difficutly level is bit less.

The AIL LET eligibility criteria 2026 are mentioned below: 

A candidate who has passed 10+2 examination from Punjab School Education Board or any other equivalent examination recognized as such by the Punjabi University, Patiala, securing at least 45% marks vide Punjabi University Letter No.216468/Meeting-4 dated 7 May 2004. The applicants who have obtained 10+2 through open university systems directly, without having any basic qualifications for pursuing such studies, are not eligible for admission in Law Courses.

As per the trend, 1,000 to 1,200 candidates apply for the AIL LET exam annually. With around 950 to 1,050 candidates appearing for the test to compete for 80–100 seats in the BA LB program.

The total number of seats are around 120. However, it will be divided in three categories. These categories inlclude All India category, Punjab Residence category and Indian Army.

For BA LLB program, following Self Attested Copies of Certificates to be Uploaded along with Online Application Form: 
(i) Matric Certificate showing Date of Birth.
(ii) 10+2 Certificate with Detailed Marks Sheet.
(iii) Indian Army/Indian Navy/Indian Air Force Category Certificate as applicable.
(iv) Gallantry Award Certificate (Applicable to Wards of Army Personnel).
(v) Gap Year Affidavit. 

The AIL LET 2026 exam is conducted by the Army Institute of Law, Mohali, at32+ centers across India, including cities like Delhi, Chandigarh/Mohali, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Mumbai. Candidates can choose upto three options.
