  • Go to the official website of the Army Institute of Law
  • Click on the Online Registration tab 
  • Enter the personal details, such as name, father’s name, date of birth, email ID, and password.
  • Candidates will get the AIL LET 2026 registration number and password
  • Log in using registration ID and password to fill out the application form 
  • Enter personal information, category, communication and education details.
  • Select the course
  • Upload a scanned passport-size photograph, signature and other documents
  • Check all the details entered in the application form
  • Pay the application fees

Candidates who meet the following criteria come under the Wards of All India General Category Other than Punjab Residents in AIL LET eligibility criteria:

(a) Children of citizens of India or persons of Indian origin, who intend to settle permanently in India and have obtained citizenship before admission to AIL

(b) Residential Proof: Domicile Certificate of the state to which student belongs (other than from the state of Punjab)

Q:   What is more tough AIL LET Exam or CLAT?

The AIL LET Exam is comparatively easier than the CLAT. While CLAT is held for NLUs, the AIL LET Exam is only for Army Institute of Law. Hence, the competition and difficutly level is bit less.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for AIL LET?
A: 

The AIL LET eligibility criteria 2026 are mentioned below: 

A candidate who has passed 10+2 examination from Punjab School Education Board or any other equivalent examination recognized as such by the Punjabi University, Patiala, securing at least 45% marks vide Punjabi University Letter No.216468/Meeting-4 dated 7 May 2004. The applicants who have obtained 10+2 through open university systems directly, without having any basic qualifications for pursuing such studies, are not eligible for admission in Law Courses.

As per the trend, 1,000 to 1,200 candidates apply for the AIL LET exam annually. With around 950 to 1,050 candidates appearing for the test to compete for 80–100 seats in the BA LB program.

Q:   How many category-wise seats are available in AIL LET 2026 for admission?
A: 

The total number of seats are around 120. However, it will be divided in three categories. These categories inlclude All India category, Punjab Residence category and Indian Army.

For BA LLB program, following Self Attested Copies of Certificates to be Uploaded along with Online Application Form: 
(i) Matric Certificate showing Date of Birth.

(iv) Gallantry Award Certificate (Applicable to Wards of Army Personnel).
