The CLAT 2025 counselling process is expected to begin from April 8, 2025. CLAT 2025 Exam was held on December 1, 2025. The CLAT Counselling Process 2025 was expected to begin from December 21, 2025, however, due to legal disputes over the accuracy of the answer key it has been delayed. Earlier, the Delhi High Court deferred the hearing on petitions challenging the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 results to April 7, 2025.
With the matter now under judicial review, the Consortium of NLUs is likely to issue further updates on the revised CLAT Counselling schedule 2025. Candidates are advised to monitor the official CLAT website for the latest announcements. The CLAT 2025 counselling process will commence after the Delhi High Court's decision and will be conducted in multiple rounds.

- SC/ST/PwD/OBC Categories: INR 20,000
- Mode of Counselling: Online – conducted by the Consortium of NLUs (CNLU).
CLAT 2025 Counselling: How to register
Candidates can apply for CLAT 2025 counselling by registering themselves on the official website through link provided in their application dashboard. Moreover, they need to follow the instructions for counselling as under: Step 1 : Login to apply for counselling process, fill the preferences, and upload the documents for verification
Step 2: Check the seat allotment list when released, and login to freeze/ float/ exit the counselling process
Step 3: By paying the counselling fee of INR 20,000, and INR 30,000, as per the category, candidates can secure their seat.
What are Freeze, Float and Exit options in CLAT 2025 counselling?
During the CLAT 2025 counselling process, candidates will have three options to decide on their allotted seat: Freeze, Float, and Exit.
Understanding the Options:
Freeze: Candidates satisfied with their allotted National Law University (NLU) can lock their seat. Once chosen, they cannot participate in further counselling rounds.
Float: Candidates can accept their current seat but opt for an upgrade in the next counselling rounds. However, if a new seat is allotted, the previous one will be forfeited.
Exit: Candidates who no longer wish to participate in counselling can withdraw, meaning they won’t be considered for future rounds.
