English is the most scoring section in the CLAT exam. The candidates can fetch good marks in the CLAT English section with the least amount of effort. The Consortium of National Law Universities notified the CLAT English syllabus on its official portal and mentioned that the questions will be passage-based and the candidates will be checked for basic reading and comprehension skills. The Consortium will test whether the candidates can-
- Understand the main point, argument or viewpoint discussed in the passage,
- Draw inferences and Conclusion
- Summarise the passage
- Compare and contrast different arguments
- Understand the meaning of words and phrases.
The above are the demands of the CLAT English section from the candidates. The CLAT English questions will be framed around the demands made in the official CLAT exam syllabus. Candidates must start reading the newspapers and non-fiction novels to inculcate the habit of reading and understanding a large chunk of knowledge in one go. This will help the candidates to read the passage within the time limit and attempt a greater number of questions in the CLAT exam.
CLAT English has 20 per cent weightage in the CLAT paper. It acquires importance because the majority of the candidates score well in this section, and the candidate can not afford to make incorrect choices in this section. The CLAT 2027 UG syllabus includes five subjects:

How to prepare for CLAT English Language Section 2027
While attempting the English Language section of the CLAT UG 2027 exam, you should keep a note of the pointers below. It is crucial to have the right strategy to score well in the CLAT Exam. Check out the CLAT syllabus for the English Language section

While it is not impossible, it is a really challenging task. To score well, you must start preparing for CLAT at least six months before. It is very important to score well if you are looking forward to getting into good NLU. For top 10 NLU, you at least need to score between 100 to 105 as per past trends.
For the CLAT 2027 Quantitative Techniques section, candidates must focus on the 10th-grade data interpretation and arithmetic.
No, the Consortium has not made any changes to the CLAT Syllabus for 2027 exam. It further clarified that the exam pattern has also not been modified this year.

Yes, the Consortium removed two Test Cities from the CLAT 2027. The removed test cities are Vellore and Tiruvarur. CLAT 2027 exam date is December 6.
