CLAT Topper List 2026 will be released soon by the Consortium of NLUs. The CLAT Exam 2026 was held on December 7, 2025. Every year, the Consortium releases the list of CLAT Toppers to help aspirants who wish to appear for the exam to know how to prepare for the law entrance exam. CLAT UG Toppers 2026 will be released soon after the results are announced. The CLAT Result 2026 is expected anytime next week. Candidates must note that the CLAT PG Toppers 2026 will also be released along.

CLAT 2026 Toppers List with Rank
The official CLAT Topper List 2026 will be announced shortly after the result. Candidates who have appeared for the exam can also check their names, ranks and overall score.The list will help aspirants to understand how to prepare and approach the CLAT 2027 Exam.
The CLAT cutoff is calculated based on several factors that influence the minimum rank or score required for admission to an NLU.
Factors Affecting CLAT Cutoff Calculation
- Total Number of Candidates Appearing – Higher competition leads to a higher cutoff.
- Difficulty Level of the Exam – If the paper is tough, the cutoff is lower, and vice versa.
- Total Number of Seats Available – Fewer seats lead to higher cutoffs.
- Category-wise Reservations – SC, ST, OBC, and EWS candidates have different cutoffs.
- Previous Year Trends – The Consortium considers past years' cutoffs for reference.
Cutoff Calculation Process
- After the CLAT exam, candidates' scores are arranged in descending order.
- Based on seat availability, the last admitted candidate's rank becomes the closing rank (cutoff) for that NLU.
- Cutoffs vary across NLUs and category-wise reservations impact the final numbers.
The CLAT cutoff refers to the minimum rank or score required to secure admission into a National Law University (NLU) through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).
Types of CLAT Cutoffs:
- Opening Rank – The highest-ranked candidate admitted to an NLU.
- Closing Rank – The rank of the last candidate admitted in a specific category.
- Category-wise Cutoff – Different for General, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS candidates.
- Round-wise Cutoff – Released in multiple counseling rounds.
Who Decides CLAT Cutoff?
The Consortium of NLUs releases the cutoff based on exam difficulty, number of candidates, and seat availability.

Preparation Tips by CLAT Toppers
CLAT 2025 AIR 1, Saksham Gautam, says he started preparing for CLAT in class 11th alongside regular schoolwork. Balancing between the two was a challenge he had to overcome. After a few months of struggling to switch between them, he developed a strategy. Instead of a rigid schedule, he used a dynamic study structure, often fluctuating the hours devoted to school and CLAT depending on the task at hand.

CLAT 2024 AIR 1, Jai Kumar Bohara, says that Good score in Board exams doesn't guarantee you a good college. I always had two priorities in mind. One was to prepare for CLAT, as it was in December, and it is more important than boards. And second priority was to maintain attendance in School. So, I had to go to school to maintain attendance but I didn’t study for boards apart from school. For the Board exams, I will start my preparation now. Because board marks will not fetch you a good college. It’s the entrance that will finally help you secure a good college.
CLAT 2023 AIR 1, Abhinav Somani, shared that his main strategy was reading the newspaper and giving mocks. I read the newspapers religiously and made notes from them. The newspaper also helps you with your vocabulary, reading speed and comprehension ability. I also gave mocks regularly. I had a study group with 4 of my friends and we used to give mocks together. We started with 1 mock a week in January 2022, bumping it up to 5-6 per week by October 2022.
