The petitioners, who allege discrepancies in the NEET PG 2024 examination process, may request the Supreme Court to transfer the case to another bench to avoid further delays.

The ongoing legal battle surrounding the NEET PG 2024 examination is facing further delays, as the Supreme Court of India has yet to set a date for the next hearing. According to Dr. Shubham Shukla, an X user tracking the case, the Ishika Jain vs National Board of Examination (Diary No. 41088/2024) case, originally scheduled for October 4, will not proceed as Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud will be unavailable. Additionally, the court will observe Dussehra holidays from October 7 to 12, making the next possible hearing date October 14 or later.

The petitioners, who allege discrepancies in the NEET PG 2024 examination process, may request the Supreme Court to transfer the case to another bench to avoid further delays. The case centers around concerns over score normalization, the absence of official answer keys, and a lack of transparency in the results.

On September 27, the Supreme Court postponed the hearing, citing the need for the Union of India (UOI) to be represented, as no UOI representative appeared during the session. The court emphasized the necessity of an Additional Solicitor General’s (ASG) presence to assist the bench in resolving the case, which has garnered significant attention from over two lakh NEET PG candidates.

With the NEET PG 2024 counseling process already underway, petitioners have raised concerns that the delay in addressing these transparency issues may negatively impact their future prospects. The petitioners have also called for the release of official answer keys and normalized scores, along with the establishment of a grievance portal to address student concerns.

The Supreme Court is expected to provide crucial updates after the holidays, potentially determining the outcome of the petitioners' demands for transparency and fairness in the NEET PG examination process.
