Overview

ICAR AIEEA PG 2026 notification is expected to be released soon. The notification will be released online at exams.nta.nic.in/icar. Candidates who wish to get admission to the Master's degree programmes in Agriculture can appear for the test. To appear for ICAR AIEEA, candidates need to apply online. The application form for ICAR AIEEA PG is expected in April 2026. Candidates who have completed their graduation in a relevant discipline with a minimum 60% marks can apply online. National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to conduct ICAR AIEEA PG in July 2026, tentatively.

What is ICAR AIEEA PG Exam?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the ICAR AIEEA Exam, a national-level examination. The ICAR AIEEA Exam 2026 is conducted for all the candidates who wish to study master's programmes in various agriculture universities in India.

Q:   What are the admission criteria to Masters degree programmes in Agricultural Universities AUs and ICAR-Deemed Universities ICAR-DUs?
A: 

Students for 30 percent of seats in Master's degree programmes in AUs are admitted through AIEEA (PG). All (100 per cent) seats of the four ICAR-DUs namely, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) and the Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE) and CAUs, viz. RLBCAU, Jhansi and Dr RPCAU, Pusa are also filled up through the same examination. 

Q:   What disciplines does ICAR AIEEA (PG) cover? Where will ICAR AIEEA exam be conducted?
A: 

The ICAR AIEEA PG examination will be conducted in 89 cities across the country. To enable participation of a large number of candidates seeking admission in Master's degree programmes in AUs in different disciplines of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Veterinary, Animal Sciences, Agricultural Engineering, Community Science (erstwhile Home Science), Fisheries, Dairy Science and other allied sciences.

Q:   Is there a direct way to apply for Masters degree at ICAR without appearing in AIEEA examination?
A: 

There is no provision for direct nomination for admission through ICAR in any Master’s degree programme without qualifying in the ICAR AIEEA (PG) examination.

Q:   On what criteria are scholarships awarded to PG students through ICAR AIEEA examination?
A: 

For postgraduate studies, the ICARPG Scholarship shall be awarded to limited candidates based on merit in this examination as per their overall merit rank and seat availability in different disciplines. Also, the eligible admitted students may be awarded NTS(PG).

Q:   What to do if question paper appear on my screen is different than the subject opted by me for ICAR AIEEA PG exam?
A: 

Applicants who face issue that different question paper is displayed on their computer screen in the examination, then they need not worry and immediately inform the investigator or the superviosr who has duty in the exam hall. 

The authority will do the needful to get this issue rectified ASAP. In case if the question paper starts then applicants need to ask for more time from the authority and complete the paper as per time allotted.

ICAR AIEEA PG 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Students must be aware of the ICAR AIEEA PG Eligibility criteria before they appear for the ICAR AIEEA PG exam. Students who meet the eligibility criteria should complete the application process after registration. In case a student does not meet the eligibility criteria but applies for the exam, maight termination of their application may be terminated at any stage of the ICAR Admission process

Based on the ICAR AIEEA eligibility criteria 2026, a student must have a UG degree, depending on the course they want to study. Students must score a minimum of 60 per cent who belong to the General, OBC, UPS, and EWS categories. They all required a minimum score of 60 per cent. A minimum of 55 per cent was required for the ST/SC and PwD categories

ICAR AIEEA PG Education Wise Eligibility Criteria  

Students who have a 4-year BSc Agriculture degree (either 6-semester integrated or as per NEP), a BTech degree or a BVSc & AH degree are eligible. Students who have a 3-year bachelor’s degree are not eligible for admission through ICAR AIEEA PG in Agricultural Universities under the ICAR-Agriculture system. However, there are two exceptions. Two ICAR Deemed Universities - IARI and NDRI - may allow students with a 3-year degree. Their own eligibility rules will be followed for admission. 

ICAR AIEEA PG Age-Wise Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who have Indian citizenship and are a minimum age of 19 years are eligible to appear in the examination. No relaxation is permissible regarding the minimum age limit.

Q:   Are candidates with a 3 year Bachelors degree eligible for admission through ICAR AIEEA exam?
A: 

The candidates having a Bachelor’s degree with 3 years duration will not be considered for admission through ICAR AIEEA (PG)-2024 in AUs under the ICAR-AU system except in a few courses at three ICAR-Deemed to be Universities (DUs), viz. IARI, IVRI and NDRI for which the eligibility criteria of the concerned ICAR-DU, including admission of graduates having passed with 3 years’ degree, would prevail for admission.

Q:   What documents are needed to be carried while reporting to allotted university in ICAR AIEEA counselling?
A: 

Candidates reporting for admission to the allotted university must have final year/final semester results in hand, such as their final OGPA/CGPA or final percentage of marks, where students do not get grade points. Candidates need to submit a Provisional Degree Certificate (PDC) /Degree certificate of qualifying graduate examination issued by the university for this purpose. The candidates should note that the university may deny admission in case the PDC is not produced at the time of verification during counselling. No correspondence shall be entertained by the Council in this regard.

Also, students should have their Class 10 marksheet, Migration or character certificates (may be required), a valid identity proof, and a reserved category certificate (if applicable) when they are going through the counselling process. You can also carry a few passport-size photos of yourself, which may be needed while filling out any admission form or completing other formalities.

Q:   What happens if a degree from a particular college/university is not recognised by VCI/UGC or due for any Court directives?
A: 

In case any degree from a particular college/university is not considered for admission by an Agricultural University on account of a particular college/university being derecognised by VCI/UGC, or due to any Court directives (present or future), ICAR will not be responsible for admitting students of that college/university in Universities not willing to admit such candidates.

Q:   What is the eligibility for admission to Masters degree through NTA exam?
A: 

Candidate should know that for admission to Master’s degree courses through entrance examination, which is conducted by NTA, only the candidates having passed graduation with a four/six (12+4/10+6 BSc Ag/BTech)/five years (BVSc & AH)/5½ years (BVSc & AH) degree programme will be eligible.

NTA will release the ICAR AIEEA application form 2026 online at official website. Candidates who meet the eligibility conditions can apply online. Q:   Is ICAR AIEEA application fee refundable?
A: 

No request for refund of fee once remitted by the candidate will be entertained by NTA under any circumstances. The final submission of the Online Application Form will remain incomplete if a candidate does not submit the ICAR AIEEA Application fee. Such forms will stand rejected and no correspondence on this account will be entertained.

Q:   What is the mode of ICAR AIEEA (PG) application process?
A: 

The entire application process of AIEEA (PG) is online, including uploading of scanned images, Payment of Fees and Printing of Confirmation Page. Therefore, candidates are not required to send/submit any document(s) including a Confirmation Page, Sponsorship Certificate/ Declaration by the Employer of the Candidate (By In-Service Candidate) to NTA/ICAR through Post/ Fax/ E-mail/By Hand.

Q:   What will happen if I enter incorrect details mistakenly in my ICAR AIEEA application form?
A: 

Candidates should ensure that all information entered during the online registration process is correct because if the online information provided by candidates like name of candidate, contact/address details, category, PwBD status, educational qualification details, date of birth, etc., during online registration for AIEEA (PG) will be treated as correct/final and NTA will not entertain, under any circumstances, any request for change in the information provided by the candidates.

ICAR AIEEA PG 2026 Test Centres

There were a total of 89 ICAR Exam centres across India for conducting the ICAR AIEEA Exam for both UG and PG courses. All the students who wish to appear for the exam get the opportunity to choose four cities to appear for the ICAR Exam. The ICAR AIEEA Exam conducting officials prioritise the exam centres chosen by the students in their ICAR AIEEA Application form. If there are other reasons, students might be given a different examination centre or a closer one.

Q:   How many ICAR AIEEA PG exam centres can be filled while applying online?
A: 

Applicants who want to fill the application form of ICAR AIEEA PG exam. The examination centres where the ICAR AIEEA PG-2024 exam will be conducted are given in Annexure- I hence applicants are advised to refer that before filling the form.

While applying, candidates have to select any four cities of their choice for AIEEA PG 2024 exam. The authorities will efforts to allot city of examination to the candidates in order of the choice opted by them in their application form. However, due to administrative reasons, a different city of nearby area may be allotted. 

Q:   How many exam centres will be for ICAR AIEEA PG exam?
A: 

The exact number of exam citites will be notified after the release of the notification. However last year ICAR AIEEA PG exam was conducted at 89 cities for the academic session 2023-24. 

NTA will increase or decrease the number of test centres as per the number of application recieved by the students. Applicants are advised to first check the official annexure abut their the nearest exam centres and fill in the application form accordingly. 

 

Q:   Are diabatic students allowed to carry food items on the day of ICAR AIEEA exam?
A: 

Diabetic students will be allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets/fruits (like bananas/apples/oranges) and transparent water bottles to the Examination Hall. However, they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolates/candy/sandwiches etc.

No student is allowed to carry the following things inside the examination hall.

Q:   Is the syllabus of ICAR AIEEA and NEET same?

The syllabus for both exams, NEET and ICAR is the same because both classes 11 and 12 syllabus is included for these entrance exam preparation . There is only one difference and that is the exam pattern. However, with practice one should be able to crack both exams.

Yes, the negative marking scheme is applicable in ICAR AIEEA PG exam. Applicants who want to appear in the exam must note that for each correct answer students will be awarded 4 marks while for each wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted. 

If any applicants attempt 4 wrong questions then 4 mark of their one correct answer will be deducted. And overall 5 questions will not carry any marks hence it is advisable to attempt only those questions in which applicants is sure enough or elese leave the questions.

The marking scheme of ICAR AIEEA PG exam includes the applicability of negative marking. For each correct answers students will be awarded 4 marks

There is no penality or reward for the questions which will be left un attempted in the ICAR AIEEA PG 2024 exam.

  • The in-service candidates must be working in ICAR Institutes, ICAR-DUs, SAUs, CAUs, CUs having faculty of agriculture, Central Government/State Government Departments dealing in Agriculture and Allied Sectors and Public Sector Undertakings dealing with Agriculture and Allied Sectors.

  • The in-service candidates qualifying for admission will arrange for study leave/leave of the kind due from their respective organizations themselves and ICAR will not intervene in this regard.

  • In-service candidates must retain the computer generated hard copy of confirmation page of the application along with Sponsorship Certificate, in original, for showing to the university officials in the event of their qualifying the examination and recommendation for admission to the concerned university. 

  • In no case, the computer-generated hard copy of confirmation page of the application and Sponsorship Certificate (Declaration by the employer)should be sent by the candidate either to NTA or ICAR. 

  • The counselling of in-service candidates seeking admission on seats reserved for the purpose at ICAR-DUs (ICAR-IARI, ICAR-IVRI, ICAR-NDRI and ICAR-CIFE) will be done at respective ICARDU level only. Such candidates are, therefore, advised to remain in touch with the respective ICAR-DU’s website for further details such as no. ofseats, eligibility requirements, counselling schedule, etc.

ICAR AIEEA PG 2026 Counselling

The counselling process will commence after the declaration of the result. Candidates who qualify the ICAR AIEEA PG can participate in the counselling process. Q:   What is the last date for students to submit the ICAR AIEEA 2025 Application fee?
A: 

The end date for students who appeared for the ICAR AIEEA PG exam was June 5, 2025, by 5:00 pm. Candidates need to submit the application fee to complete the application process by visiting the official website. 

Q:   When was the ICAR AIEEA Exam 2025 held?
A: 

The ICAR AIEEA PG Exam was conducted on July 3, 2025, for all the UG and PG candidates in online CBT mode. Only those students who have completed their registration process are eligible to appear for the ICAR Exam. 

Q:   What is NTA score in ICAR AIEEA PG exam?
A: 

The NTA score is a percentile score of the candidate in the test in which he/she appeared. It indicates the candidate's position visà-vis others who appeared in it. It is not mark.

It is an indicator of the relative position of the candidates amongst those who appeared in the ICAR AIEEA PG test. 

Q:   What are the application fees for the general category for ICAR AIEEA PG registration?
A: 

After filling the form, applicants are required to pay the application fee of their respective category. The general category applicants need to pay INR 1175.

Q:   What is the release date for the ICAR AIEEA 2025 Admit Card?
A: 

According to the official website, NTA released the ICAR AIEEA Hall Ticket on June 27, 2025. The admit card is released a few days before the exam day for all the exam takers. 

Q:   What is the procedure if two candidates score the same marks in the ICAR AIEEA PG exam?
A: 

If two applicants secure the same marks then their merit and rank will be decided by the authorities following the below-mentioned procedure in the order. 

(i) Firstly, students who will do fewer incorrect questions will be rated higher. 

(ii) Secondly older applicants (higher in age) would be given preference. 

(iii) Last, an applicant who has a higher percentage/CGPA in the class 12 exam would be considered higher in merit. 

Q:   When was the ICAR City Intimation slip out?
A: 

The ICAR City Intimation slip was released on June 24, 2025, on the official website for both PG and PhD students who wish to appear for the ICAR Exam to pursue their preferred courses.  

Q:   What are the steps to download the ICAR City intimation slip?
A: 

Candidates need to visit the official website and then they need to click on the city intimation slip link and fill in their application number and date of birth to download the city intimation slip. 

Q:   What is the timeline for candidates to make corrections to their ICAR Application form?
A: 

The date for candidates to make any changes to their application form to appear for the ICAR AIEEA Exam was between June 7 to 9, 2025. Once the correction window closes, no candidate is allowed to make any changes to their ICAR Application Form. 

Q:   What is the counselling process for in-service candidates seeking admission to ICAR-DUs?
A: 

Counselling for in-service candidates seeking admission to reserved seats at ICAR-DUs (ICAR-IARI, ICAR-IVRI, ICAR-NDRI, and ICAR-CIFE) will be conducted at the respective ICAR-DU levels only. These candidates are suggested to check the respective ICAR-DU’s website to learn about the number of seats, eligibility requirements, counselling schedule, and more.
