MHT CET 2027: The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra is expected to release the MHT CET registration 2027 anytime soon. As per media reports, the Maharashtra CET exam for engineering and pharmacy admissions will be held between December 15 to January 15, 2027. Candidates can expect the first MHT CET 2027 notification to be released in late September to early October.
The authorities will conduct MHT CET 2027 for PCM and PCB groups. The total marks for both tests will be 200, while the subject-wise marking scheme is different for both groups. There are discussions of changing the admission process this year and including the class 12th marks for preparation of merit lists. Currently, only the CET scores are used for admissions.

What is MHT CET?
MHT CET is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell for admission to undergraduate engineering, pharmacy and other professional courses offered by participating colleges in Maharashtra.
For engineering admissions, candidates are allotted seats through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). The allotment is based on the candidate’s MHT CET score, merit rank, category, preferences filled during counselling and seat availability. The examination is being conducted in two attempts, giving candidates an additional opportunity to improve their scores.

Nationality and Domicile
Candidate must be an Indian citizen. Candidates fulfilling any of the following criteria are considered Maharashtra state domicile candidates:
- A candidate who is either a domicile of Maharashtra or born in Maharashtra.
- A candidate whose father or mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and holds a Domicile Certificate.
- A candidate whose either of the parents is an employee of the Government of India or a Government of India Undertaking (PSUs) and is posted and reported for duty in Maharashtra State.
- A candidate whose parents are employees or retired employees of the Government of Maharashtra or a Government of Maharashtra Undertaking (PSUs).
- Candidates who have passed the SSC and/or HSC Examination from a disputed Maharashtra-Karnataka Border Area, or Maharashtra, residing in the disputed Maharashtra-Karnataka Border area, and whose mother tongue is Marathi.
- Candidates belonging to a specific linguistic or religious minority community from the State of Maharashtra, as notified by the Government, can apply for the MHT CET.

Registration: Oct ' 26
CET Cell will soon commence the MHT CET 2027 registration for session 1. Candidates have to complete the registration, fill the application form, upload the documents and pay the fee. Students can choose to apply for both PCM and PCB groups or apply for any one of them. The application process involves the following steps:
Getting registered at CET Portal
- Register: Visit the official website of the CET cell - cetcell.mahacet.org. Now register using the details asked.
- Verify: On submitting the details, a verification email will be sent to the email address. Go to your inbox and click on the verification link.
- Login: After verification of the email ID, candidates have to access the MHT CET login 2027, using the registered email ID and the password created during registration.
- Proceed to Digilocker: Candidates have to then click on "Proceed to Digilocker" to authenticate themselves with Adhaar and APAAR ID for MHT CET registration process.

The Maharashtra State CET Cell provides the facility to correct/modify the details in MHT CET application form in online mode. The MHT CET correction window will be open for a limited time. Candidates who wish to make changes to the details submitted in the form have to log in to the portal using their registered email ID and password. The facility to raise objections is not provided for the final answer key. Candidates are advised to check thoroughly the provisional answer key and raise objections in the provisional key only, if they have any doubt to the answer provided by the CET Cell. The facility to challenge MHT CET provisional answer key will be open after the CET Cell releases the key. The challenge facility will be open for a period of 2-3 days.

To register for MHT CET counselling, candidates have to visit the official website - cetcell.mahacet.org and register online with the details asked.
Candidates who have not appeared in MHT CET exam can participate in the counselling based on their JEE Main score, if appeared. Candidates who did not appeared either in JEE Main or MHT CET can participate in the counselling based on their class 12 percentage.
Admission in BTech courses in Maharashtra is given on the basis of three exams
- MHT CET
- JEE Main
- Class 12 Marks
A certain number of seats are reserved under Home-State quota and All India quota. All India quota seats are filled on the basis of JEE Main scores while Home-State quota seats are filled on through MHT CET scores. At the end of counselling/seat allotment on the basis of MHT CET and JEE Main, seats that remain vacant are filled on the basis of class 12 marks.
At the time of registration for MHT CET counselling, candidates need to provide the detail of applying for admission on the basis of JEE Main/MHT CET or class 12.

With 97.5 percentile in MHT-CET, you have a strong chance to get admission in reputed colleges like PICT Pune, VIT Pune, SPIT Mumbai, or Thakur College of Engineering for branches such as IT, ECE, or Electrical. COEP and VJTI may be difficult for CSE. Government colleges like WCE Sangli, SGGS Nanded, and GCOE Amravati are also good options. You can get preferred branches in private colleges and core branches in government ones. Your chances further improve if you belong to a reserved category or have home university advantage within Maharashtra.
For the General HS category, the cutoff ranged from 4.33 to 20.54 percentile for M.Tech course specialisations. Therefore, students need to attain at least 4.33 percentile for admissions at COEP Pune. MHT CET M.Tech percentiles are required for admission to M.Tech courses at COEP, Pune.

MHT CET 2027 FAQs
Yes, candidates need to provide supporting proof for MHT CET answer key challenge. Supporting document has to be uploaded to the website while submitting the answer key challenge. The Maharashtra CET Cell will not accept the answer key challenge without proper supporting proof.
For verifying marks, candidates are required to write an application to the Divisional authority. It must reach to the authority within four days of result declaration. Along with the application, a bank draft of Rs 1,000 in the name “Director of Education & Research Mumbai” must also be submitted.
The scorecard of MHT CET will have details of percentile score in the exam and basic details of the candidates. Candidates can check their subject-wise marks, the total aggregate score, rank secured and qualifying status through MHT CET 2027 result.
The previous year question papers of MHT CET help with exam preparation. It helps with improving speed and accuracy, and analysis of the exam preparation so far.
Candidates can calculate expected scores in exam through MHT CET answer key. They can calculate their score, subtract marks for every incorrect answer from marks of all correct answers. For this, candidates must know the MHT CET marking scheme. As per MHT CET marking scheme:
- 2 marks is allotted for every correct answer
- -1 mark for every incorrect answer
- No mark for unattempted questions
The official MHT CET answer key consists of details of correct answers to every question asked in the exam. These details will be in form of ID of correct answers and ID of answer marked by candidate during the exam.
Taking help of coaching is not necessarily required for clearing the MHT CET exam. Many students score good marks in MHT CET by self-studying, without help from coaching. To crack MHT CET without coaching, students need to make a study plan considering the time they have before exam.
Students can take help of online tutorials and videos from previous year toppers who have cleared the exam without coaching to understand their strategy. One thing that is required when students are not taking coaching is regular study.
Make a daily time table of study and devote at least 5-6 hours for MHT CET preparation. Students who are in class 11 or 12 can give 3-4 hours specifically for CET beside school studies. Students who have passed class 12 should also study at least 6 hours daily.
The syllabus of MHT CET is similar to class 11 and 12 however not all the topics of class 11 are covered in MHT CET. As per the official syllabus released by the Maharashtra CET Cell, only some topics of class 11 are covered in MHT CET and all the topics of class 12 are covered. Candidates must have the following documents ready for MHT CET registrations:
- Updated Aadhaar (UIDAI) Card
- APAAR ID
- Disability Certificate and/or Unique Disability ID (UDID Card) (for PwD Candidates)
- Scribe Details (for PwD Candidates in case of Eligible Disabilities)
In one single year, candidates can attempt MHT CET twice. The session 1 exams are held in April and the session 2 exams in May. candidates can appear in both or just one session. Admisison is based on best score out of both the sessions.

Starting the MHT CET preparation from class 11 or 12 is the best time as MHT CET syllabus consists of topics from class 11 and 12 and students can easily cover all the topics along with school. Students can begin by checking the topics that is covered in both school and MHT CET and give special attention to them. For all three subjects, study NCERT and also take help from reference books. Understand the concepts thoroughly and solve numerical problems. To crack MHT CET along with class 12, students should devote at least 2-3 hours for CET beside class 12 studies. Regularly solve MHT CET mock test and solve previous year question papers to evaluate the performance.

Sorry, but according to me with 96.09 percentile in MHT-CET through PCB, you cannot get admission to ICT for B.Tech Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology. The cuttoff competitively closes around 99.0 to 99.9 percentile.
