Bachelor of Education popularly known as B.Ed is a two-year graduate degree program that enables students to become school teachers in India. Earlier, only graduates were eligible for this course. However, after looking at the increasing demand for the teaching profession, the Ministry of Human Resources turned B.Ed into an integrated course. This integrated course can be taken after 10+2 education. You can thus become a graduate and B.Ed-qualified professional in just 4 years. Otherwise, going by the traditional route, you would need 3 years to graduate and 2 years to complete the B.Ed course.

According to the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), professionals aiming to teach in primary and secondary schools must have a B.Ed degree, allowing them to teach science and arts from a teacher’s perspective.

Q:   What is a B.Ed course?
A:

B.Ed is a professional degree that prepares you to become a teacher. The full form of B.Ed is Bachelor of Education and it’s usually a 2 year program where you learn each and everything from how students learn to how to manage a classroom effectively.

It is not just about being a bookworm but you will also get hands-on experience through internships where you teach in real schools under the guidance of experienced educators. Also, you jnow what's even more interesting for me that you can specialize in subjects like Math, Science or English depending on what you’re passionate.

If teaching is your vibe and you want to turn that passion into a career a B.Ed gives you the tools, knowledge and credentials to step into classrooms confidently and make a real difference. It’s basically the starting point for anyone serious about shaping minds and impacting the future and turn your childhood dream true.
