JEE Advanced 2026 Cutoff: IIT Roorkee will announce the JEE Advanced cutoff 2026 along with the results. IIT JEE Cutoff is the minimum marks that a candidate must score to qualify JEE Advanced exam. Only qualified candidates will be allowed to participate in JoSAA counselling for IIT admissions.

JEE Advanced cutoff 2026 will be in the form of minimum percentage of marks in each subject, the minimum percentage of aggregate marks, the minimum marks in each subject, and the minimum aggregate marks out of 360.

In 2025, the JEE Advanced cutoff for each subject and overall cut off was dropped across all the categories. The JEE Advanced cutoff marks for inclusion in the rank list in the last session were: 20.56% for the common rank list; 18.50% for the GEN-EWS rank list and OBC-NCL rank list; 10.28% for SC, ST, and PwD rank lists across all categories; and 5.14% for Preparatory course rank lists.

Contrary to the year 2025, in 2024, there was a rise in the cutoff marks and cutoff percentage, with the cutoff of the common rank list being 30.34%, 27.30% for the GEN-EWS rank list and OBC-NCL rank list; 15.17% for SC, ST, and PwD rank lists across all categories, and 7.58% for Preparatory course rank lists.

Q:   When will the JEE Advanced 2026 counselling be held?
A: 

The JEE Advanced 2026 counselling (JoSAA) will start in June. Note that the counselling for the JEE Advanced qualified candidates for IIT admissions will be conducted jointly with NITs, IIITs and GFTIs admission counselling by JoSAA - Joint seat allocation authority.

Candidates have to register for JoSAA, fill choices, check allotment, confirm allotment, and pay seat confirmation fee to complete the IIT admisison process after JEE Advanced. The registration for JoSAA counselling will start on June 2, 2026.

In case of failed JEE Advanced application fee payment, the money deited from account will be credited back to the account within 24-hours. In case the money is not recieved back, they can contact the JEE Adv official through email or phone.

The last date to apply for IIT JEE Adv 2026 is May 2. Eligible candidates can apply online from the website jeeadv.ac.in. The registration will start on April 8 for foreign candidates and April 23 for Indian students.

If you're beginning the preparation after JEE Main session 1 exam, it will be difficult/almost impossible to prepare for JEE Advanced. However, if you've prepared for IIT JEE in previous months and has covered the syllabus, you can manage to revise the important topics in one month.

As per the JEE Advanced 2026 eligibility criteria, general/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates must be born on or after October 1, 2001 in order to apply for the exam. Candidates from SC, ST, and PwD category get a 5-year relaxation hence they must be born on or after October 1, 1996.
