NSAT exam pattern 2026 is same as last year. Exam will be conducted for 150 minutes in which candidates will have to solve 75 objective type questions based on relevant subjects. Every question will carry 2 marks for correct attempt and 0 marks for incorrect attempt. There is no negative marking. Check below latest NSAT exam pattern.

NSAT syllabus for BTech includes Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology. Candidates planning to appear for NSAT, must study all the topics included in the syllabus for up to Class 12 level.

NSAT BTech syllabus can be said to be same as JEE Main syllabus because it also includes Physics, Chemistry, Maths but NSAT syllabus is not as vast as JEE Main and the exam is not as tough as JEE Main either.

NSAT has no negative marking. Check below marking scheme for all courses:

  • Number of questions: 75
  • Marks per question: 2
  • Total marks: 150

It is not mandatory to attempt all the questions but candidates should aim to attempt a minimum of 50-60 questions to get a good score. Better the score, greater the chances of being shortlisted for admission.

No, NSAT syllabus is not difficult. It includes topics and chapters studied in Class 11 and 12. Candidates can crack the NSAT syllabus by revising the topics studied in school.

Sectional weightage in NSAT is equal for all sections. NSAT BTech paper has 25 questions each in Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Similarly, NSAT BBA, BA LLB, BBA LLB papers have 25 questions each in English, Logical Reasoning and General Awareness.

It is not compulsory to attempt all sections of NSAT, but it is recommended to do so. Skipping an entire section will affect your overall score and you might not make the cut.

NSAT is a low difficulty level exam. The questions are simple and straightforward. All the questions are in MCQ format with four options so it is easier to answer them. There is no sectional cut off requirement.

NSAT is an easy exam. The questions asked are familiar and easy. Candidates can crack NSAT with about 2-3 months of preparation. Those who have appeared for JEE Main or CUET find NSAT very easy.

Yes, NSAT syllabus for BTech is based on class 12 chapters of Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology. The NSAT BBA, BA LLB and BBA LLB syllabus includes English and Maths of class 9 -10 level. Reasoning and GK are additional subjects.
