NIOS 12th Exam Pattern 2025: National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) releases the NIOS 12th Exam Pattern every year. Students must go through the NIOS Class 12 Exam Pattern 2025 to have an insight into the type of questions and the marking scheme. They are advised to understand the NIOS pattern 2025 Class 12 and prepare accordingly. Students must also go through the entire NIOS Class 12 Syllabus and ensure that they cover the whole syllabus well in time.

The board released the NIOS Class 12 exam 2025 date sheet October session in September 2025, on the official website. Students can download the NIOS 12th admit card 2025 from the official website. The NIOS 12th result 2025 October session will be released in January 2026. Students are advised to practice the previous year NIOS 12th question papers and boost their preparation for the NIOS Class 12 exam.

Q:   What is the NIOS 12th Class Exam Pattern?
A: 

For NIOS 12th exam, each subject paper will be conducted for 100 Marks. This 100 marks involve theory, internal, and practical components. The internal assessment will have a weightage of 10 marks, and the practical exam will carry 30 marks. The time duration of the NIOS board exam is 3 Hours. Students should understand the NIOS exam pattern and prepare accordingly. The grading of subjects is made of two parts, Tutor Marked Assignments, or TMAs and the final examinations.

Q:   How many groups are there for NIOS 12th subjects?
A: 

NIOS has divided the subjects for class 12 into six groups namely Group A, B, C, D, E and F. Group A consists language subjects.  Other groups include subjects from Science, Commerce, Humanities and others. Each student has to select a minimum 5 subjects in total while applying for NIOS admission 2025. It is mandatory to choose one language subject from group A and other subjects can be chosen from any group.

Q:   How many times does the NIOS conduct exams for class 12?
A: 

NIOS 12th public examinations are conducted twice in a year. One exam is held in March/April and other exam in Oct/Nov. Students can visit the official website at NIOS. AC. In. for more information. NIOS 12th theory exam 2025 will be held from October 14 to November 18, 2025.

Q:   Is it mandatory to go through the NIOS 12th exam pattern?
A: 

Students are advised to go through the NIOS 12th pattern and syllabus. This will help them to get an idea on the topics to be learned. It will also help them to know the marking scheme. Understanding the NIOS pattern helps students to plan accordingly. This will help students to be familiar with the type of questions asked for the exam. 

Q:   What are the mediums of studies available in NIOS?
A: 
The NIOS offers a choice in the medium of studies at the secondary level in English Hindi Urdu, Marathi, Odia, Telugu, Gujarati, Tamil, Malayalam and Punjabi medium. Students can choose accordingly at the secondary level. The learner is free to choose any one of these mediums for studies. At Class 12 level, the course is offered only Hindi English Urdu mediums. The learner is free to choose any one of these mediums for studies.
