Anna University TNEA 2023 counselling registration is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) Chennai, Government of Tamil Nadu in online mode. The process of Anna University TNEA counselling will include the steps given below:

Detailed procedure for Anna University TNEA counselling has been elaborated below:
Registration for TNEA - Candidates have to register from the official website at tneaonline.org. Candidates who do not have an internet connection can head straight to the TFCs which will help them register for the exam. In this step, candidates have to enter all their basic details in the application form of TNEA counselling such as name, date of birth, mobile number and email address among others.
Payment of TNEA counselling fees - Candidates who have successfully registered for the exam, have to pay the counselling fee as per their category. The counselling fee for different categories are as follows:
- General/OBC - Rs. 500
- SC/ST - Rs. 250
- For each special reservation category - Rs. 100
Filling all personal details - The third step of counselling is TNEA choice filling after payment. Candidates have to fill in their basic details such as details of the nativity, nationality, category, marks of qualifying examination and board name within a given period of time.
Submission of Anna University counselling TNEA application form - After verifying the personal details, candidates have to submit the filled-in TNEA application form.
Allotment of random number - All the registered candidates will be allotted a 10 digit random number. The purpose of the random number of TNEA 2023 is to help break the deadlock between candidates if there is a tie even after exhausting all tie-breaking rules.

The Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu conducts TNEA every year. It is an online counselling window. All Indian National candidates who wish to take admission to Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges, University Departments and Constituent Colleges of Anna University, Annamalai University and for the seats surrendered by Self-Financing Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu have to apply for TNEA counselling. TNEA counselling is a Unified Single Window Admission System for Indian Nationals only. The courses offered via this online counselling are BE/B.Tech and BE (sandwich) courses. TNEA counselling is conducted online in 4 rounds as per the Schedule. Candidates need to participate in corresponding rounds based on their rank.
TNEA Certificate Verification at the TFCs - Candidates will be required to go to the TFCs with their application, original certificates and their photocopies. Students will be given a week's time to choose the closest TFC which can be in any district across the state. During this time, students will also be handed out a booklet with information on all colleges, seats and courses. This handbook will also be available online. Besides this, a video too will be displayed at the TFCs instructing the TNEA counselling process to guide students. Below are the documents required for Anna University counselling TNEA:

Counselling Process - The counselling will comprise four to five rounds. Each round will be held over 5 days where candidates will have three days to enter their tentative option (college/course). They may take the next two days to confirm the allotment given to them. Students will have the option to carry this process online but they can also approach the TFCs for the same. At this stage, aspirants will be required to pay a sum of Rs. 5,000 (1,000 for SC/SCA/ST) as initial deposit for college admissions.
During each stage, SMS, as well as an email alert, will be sent to candidates. Further details about TNEA 2023 counselling process is yet to be declared. The TNEA cutoff will also be released for all rounds of counselling.
Seat Allotment and confirmation - The authority will release the first list of TNEA 2023 seat allotment. The list of candidates will be prepared solely on the basis of merit list prepared by the authority, choices filled and category of the candidate. Candidates have to login to their TNEA account to see the result of seat allotment. Candidates can either accept the seat or surrender the seat to participate in next round of seat allotment. After confirming the seat, candidates have to report to their respective institute/college of Tamil Nadu.

Based on the availability of seats, rank, and community, candidates will be allotted.
