TNEA 2023 Application Form: Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu has closed TNEA registrations. Document verification process at the TFCs was held from June 5 to June 20. 10+2 passed/appearing candidates could apply for TNEA counselling. Admission was based on marks obtained by the candidates in the relevant subjects, namely, Maths, Physics and Chemistry which will be reduced to 200 (Maths – 100, Physics – 50 and Chemistry – 50).

The TNEA application process involves TNEA 2023 registration, application form filling, previewing the form, application fee payment, and generation of the final report. The final report is the confirmation page that indicates that the form has been submitted successfully. Candidates must take a print of this report. Candidates who successfully register for TNEA 2023 will be allotted a random number. The authority will send random numbers to the candidates through SMS. TNEA 2023 Document Verification Process at the TFCs

The uploaded certificates are subjected to verification at the TFCs selected by the candidates in the online application form. The certificate uploading and verification procedure is intimated after the completion of the registration process.

While verifying the documents uploaded during TNEA 2023 registration, candidates have to follow the following steps:

  1. If the status shown is Incomplete, candidates have to scan all the required certificates as a single pdf file and upload it.
  2. After uploading they must freeze the upload and logout.
  3. If the status shown is 'upload not completed and Upload status as Not started', scan all the certificates as a single pdf file and upload.
  4. After uploading freeze the upload and logout.
  5. If the status shown is 'In Progress', it indicates that certificate verification is under process.
  6. If the status shown is 'Completed successfully', then it indicates that Certificate verification is completed successfully for that Application.

TNEA 2023 Application Process - Steps to Apply

The detailed application procedure has been explained below:

Step 1 - TNEA 2023 registration

On the registration page, candidates have to enter their name, email ID, password generation, nationality, nativity, religion, community, whether they have studied from 8th to 12th standard in Tamil Nadu or not, date of birth, mobile number, gender, qualifying number, the month of passing, year of passing.

An OTP will be sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number. After submitting the OTP and previewing the details, candidates have to click on the ‘register’ button. After registration, candidates will be sent their user ID in their registered mobile number.

 Note:

  • The name should be entered as in the class 10th /12th mark sheet
  • Candidates have to enter his/her e-mail address for 'User Id'. If the candidate does not have an e-mail address, then an e-mail address has to be created and enter the same for the user id. In case, if they do not have an e-mail-Id and if not in a position to create one immediately, use parents' email. This e-mail address shall be treated as the candidate’s login user-id and registered e-mail address to which all communications are sent
  • The mobile number entered here will be treated as your registered mobile number
  • The password should contain a minimum of 8 characters with which at least one capital, one numerical and one special character
  • Details entered here cannot be modified later, hence enter the details correctly before confirming
  • Candidates have to remember their User Id (e-mail address) and password because this will be used during the process of application, payment, choice entry and allotment

Step 2 - Login

After receiving the user id and password, candidates have to login using their id and password for entering details in the application form.

Step 3 - Fill the online application form

In the online application form candidates have to enter the below given details:

  1. Personal details
  2. Special reservation information
  3. Scholarship information
  4. School of Study Information
  5. Academic Information

Step 4 - Preview/submit an application

The preview of the filled application form will be displayed and after checking for any mistakes, the candidates will have to submit it.

Step 5 - TNEA application fee payment

In this step, candidates have to pay the application fees through online mode only. The payment can be made through debit/net banking/credit card.

Step 6 - Printout of TNEA 2023 application form

After submitting academic details, candidates have to take a printout of the application form for further admission process. The printout must be kept safe until the admission process is over.

Q:   Can a Diploma holder apply for TNEA?

A:
You may apply for TNEA if you have an engineering Diploma. You can apply for Tamil Nadu lateral entry admission through TNEA. 1. To be eligible to apply for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission TNEA you must have completed the 12th grade. 2. TNEA provides lateral entry admission to B.Tech for holders of Tamil Nadu diplomas. 3. You need to have finished a three-year engineering Diploma after class 10 in order to be qualified for it. You can also apply for Tamil Nadu lateral entry admission as a B.Sc. Graduate after the 12th grade.

Q:   Where do I apply for TNEA counselling?

You have to apply on the official TNEA website. Engineering colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu offer admission based on the results of the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions TNEA exam. 1. The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Technical Education is in charge of conducting this exam. Following the exam, seats are assigned in engineering colleges through the TNEA counselling process. 2. The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions TNEA is an engineering college entrance exam that is held to offer admission to engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. Q:   Is the first graduation Certificate mandatory for the TNEA counselling?

The First Graduate Certificate is issued by the Tamil Nadu government to those candidates who will receive fee concessions or scholarships. In such candidates' families, they will be the first graduate, and no other person in the family is a graduate. This first graduation Certificate is issued by a Tahsildar-rank government officer. It is mandatory only for those candidates who have selected this option while filling out the TNEA application form. It is not essential to participate in counseling but is required during document verification if you selected the option of a first-time graduate on your application form.

Q:   I have uploaded my first graduate Certificate wrongly. Will it affect my TNEA counselling process?

A:
Hello Vishal, First graduate is not an essential Certificate to participate in TNEA counselling. If you are a first graduate and if you want reduction in the college fee, then only you can submit the first graduate. Otherwise, if you don't provide First graduate Certificate you won't get the fee reduction. You can also provide the first graduate Certificate during the second year in the respective college to get the fee reduction.

Q:   I have studied till 8th in Andhra and 9th,10th,11th,12th standards in Tamil Nadu. So will they consider me as local or not for TNEA?

TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) is conducted by Anna University, Chennai for admission to various engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. To be considered as a "local candidate" for TNEA you must satisfy certain eligibility criteria set by Anna University. As per the TNEA eligibility criteria, a candidate can be considered as a local candidate if he/she meets any of the following criteria: Candidates who are Native of Tamil Nadu (i.e. who have studied in Tamil Nadu) or who have completed their qualifying examination from an institution located in Tamil Nadu. Children of Central Government Employees, who have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years at the time of submission of application, and whose parents' native is not Tamil Nadu. Children of employees in Public Sector or Government recognised institutions who at the time of submission of application for admission employed in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years. Based on the above eligibility criteria, if you have completed your 10th, 11th, and 12th standards in Tamil Nadu, then you can be considered as a local candidate for TNEA. However, if you do not meet any of the eligibility criteria mentioned above, you may not be considered as a local candidate for TNEA.

Q:   What are the credentials required for TNEA Login?

Candidates have to enter their email address and password on the TNEA login window. The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) Tamil Nadu releases TNEA application form on the official website. To apply for TNEA admissions, candidates have to pass their qualifying examination I. e. 10+2 or intermediate and meet the eligibility requirements set by the authority. Yes, candidates can edit the TNEA 2023 application form until the last date of registration. The candidate has to fill up the details in the application form and they can give their preference of TFC for online Certificates Verification. TNEA is open to other state candidates who have studied VIII, IX, X, XI and XII class in Tamil Nadu. Candidates who are 10+2 passed with minimum 45% marks are eligible to apply for TNEA under the Open competition category. The nativity conditions for TNEA 2023 are as follows: I) Tamil Nadu candidates who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standard. From schools situated in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply. They need not produce Nativity Certificate for verification. Ii) Tamil Nadu native candidates who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standard. Or their equivalent examination from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply. They should produce Original Nativity Certificate only in electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate. Iii) Children of Central Government Employees may also apply for admission, irrespective of their native, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past FIVE YEARS at the time of submission of application. This should be supported by producing a Certificate from the employer of the parent or guardian, to that effect. 2 iv) Children of employees in Public Sector or Government recognised Institutions who at the time of submission of application for admission employed in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years may also apply irrespective of their domicile. A Certificate from the employer stating that the person is a Permanent Employee of the Firm or Institution concerned with evidence like Income Tax return, PF Slips, etc. And is working in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past FIVE YEARS has to be produced. V) Sons and daughters of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are eligible to apply. A Self declaration from the parent in this regard is to be produced.

Q:   Is there any age limit to apply for TNEA?

A:
No, there is no age limit to apply for TNEA. However, note that the age limit is applicable at the time of admission based on the course and the institutes eligibility conditions. Therefore candidates must check the eligibility for the course and institute they are willing to apply for admission via TNEA 2023 counselling. TNEA stands for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions. The Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu conducts TNEA every year. It is an online counselling window.
