GUJCET 2026 Dress Code: What Girls & Boys Should Wear and Avoid

Candidates should try to adhere to some dress code-related instructions on the GUJCET 2026 exam day. Even though GSEB do not issue any strict dress code guidelines, candidates should take precautions on their end. GUJCET 2026 Dress Code & Instructions

GUJCET 2026 Dress Code: Gujarat Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) will conduct the GUJCET exam 2026 on March 29. The exam will be held in an offline (pen and paper-based) mode. On the day of the exam, candidates have to follow the exam day guidelines.

Although no official instructions have been issued to the candidates for the dress code by GSEB, boys and girls are expected to follow certain dress code guidelines. The way candidates dress on the GUJCET 2026 exam day will be beneficial to them during the frisking and identification process in the GUJCET exam centres. The dress code guideline includes what to wear and what to avoid, like metallic items, garments with big buttons, shoes with thick soles, etc.

The GUJCET exam will have three papers - Physics & Chemistry, Biology and Maths. The physics & chemistry exam will be held from 10 am to 12 noon. The Biology exam will be conducted from 1 pm to 2 pm, and the Maths paper will be held from 3 pm to 4 pm. For each paper, the entry at the exam hall will start 30 minutes before the exam starts.

Check some appropriate dress code-related instructions for female candidates appearing for the GUJCET 2026 exam:

• Wear simple clothing. Avoid embellishments and metallic buttons.
• Since GUJCET will be held in the summer, make sure to wear light clothes that do not make you uncomfortable or distract you from the exam.
• Also, female candidates should try to avoid dupattas, stoles and any kind of loose fabric that can cause distractions.
• Wear less or no jewellery.
• Avoid wearing watches.
• Try to wear open-toe sandals and avoid thick soles.
• Do not carry purses and wallets.

Boys should also wear exam-appropriate clothing on the GUJCET exam day. Check some tips below:

• Wear half sleeve shirts or simple t-shirts with no or fewer graphics.
• Try to avoid full sleeve shirts and t-shirts.
• Wear pants with fewer or no pockets.
• Try to wear open-toe sandals and avoid thick soles.
• Avoid belts and watches.
• Do not carry purses and wallets.

Why is Following Dress Code Important at GUJCET 2026 Exam Centres?

GSEB do not mandate any dress code rules for the candidates appearing for the GUJCET 2026 exam. However, girls and boys should take care of the dress code discussed above to maintain discipline at the exam centre.

Moreover, following a dress code on the exam day helps the candidates appearing for the exam have a stress-free experience. There can be frisking at the exam hall, and candidates might have to go through a check. Wearing simple clothes and footwear will make the frisking and checking process easier.

Therefore, candidates are recommended to follow a dress code at the GUJCET 2026 exam centre.

Important Instructions to Follow on GUJCET 2026 Exam Day

On the day of the exam, candidates have to follow the following guidelines at the exam centre:

Be on time: The candidates shall enter the examination hall as per the schedule given on the GUJCET admit card.

No entry after the gate closes: After commencement of the examination, no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall under any circumstances.

Take your seat: The candidate must sit on the Seat Number mentioned in the GUJCET admit card as per the sitting arrangement of the respective examination hall.

No entry with GUJCET hall ticket: Without the GUJCET admit card 2026, no entry will be given in the examination hall.

Calculators are allowed at the GUJCET exam hall: Only the hall ticket and a simple calculator will be allowed in the examination hall. Any type of material, such as a textbook, any reference literature, slide rules, printed or handwritten log table, Xeroxed writing, chits, cellular phone, pager or any type of instrument or literature, will not be allowed in the examination hall. 

Simple pen is allowed: The candidate will have to bring a good-quality black ball point pen for filling the information and answers in the answer-sheet.

Candidates can not exit the exam hall between exams: The candidate will not be allowed to leave the examination hall unless and until the examination is over.

No eatables and beverages allowed: The candidate will not be allowed to enter the examination hall with tea, coffee, cold drinks, or light refreshment during the examination. Smoking is prohibited in the examination hall.
