TNEA-2022

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) 2024 will be conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) Tamil Nadu. TNEA 2024 will be conducted based on the marks secured by candidates in the Class 12 examination. The authority on its official website will release TNEA dates 2024. The authority will conduct TNEA 2024 counselling for the General and Vocational categories. Based on the TNEA rank list 2024 candidates will be called for counselling.

TNEA rank list will be released for all the registered and eligible candidates for admission. The TNEA counselling process will be held online in four to five rounds. To facilitate the process, around 54 facilitation centres have been established in the state of Tamil Nadu. Based on the area and number of applicants, each district will have one or more Tamilnadu Engineering Admission Facilitation Centres (TFCs) to help students through all the counselling stages. Tamilnadu Engineering Admission Counselling 2024 will start for the General stream in online mode. Shortlisted candidates have to appear for Tamilnadu Engineering Admission 2024 counselling as per their aggregate marks and ranks.

TNEA cut-off score is the minimum mark that candidates have to secure to be eligible for admission to B.Tech courses. Eligible candidates for TNEA are called seat allotment on the basis of TNEA cut-off marks and availability of seats in the TNEA participating colleges. The TNEA cut-off admission scores will also be released after each round of counselling on the official website. TNEA cutoffs are different for all the categories depending on various exam factors.

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions TNEA process is used to place candidates at various engineering colleges throughout the state of Tamil Nadu. TNEA rank lists are used to offer admissions to candidates in undergraduate programs like Bachelors of Engineering (BE) and Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech) in colleges in Tamil Nadu. The TNEA written exam has been scrapped as the counselling is based on Class 12 marks, and therefore seats are allotted in the colleges through the TNEA rank list. You need to register on the official website, after which category-wise rank lists will be announced. You can get admission for B.Tech (IT) in TNEA if your aggregate score is decent enough (130 or more) and you make it to the rank list released by the Directorate of Technical Education.

Documents/Information to Be Kept Ready Before TNEA 2024 Registration

Payment of Counselling Fees: Candidates who have successfully registered for the exam have to pay the counselling fee as per their respective category. The counselling fee for different categories are as follows:

  • General/OBC – Rs. 500
  • SC/ST – Rs. 250
  • For each special reservation category - Rs. 100

TNEA Random Number 2024

DoTE will release the TNEA 2024 random number on the official website Registered candidates have to sign in by entering their login ID/email ID and password to view their TNEA unique random number allotted by the authority. The conducting body will also inform all the registered candidates about the assigned TNEA random number through SMS. The random number is 10 digits that will be allotted to the candidates randomly. Candidates have to verify their documents at TFCs as per their assigned TNEA random number.

TNEA Choice filling & locking: TNEA 2021 choice filling will be available for all candidates who have paid the initial payment for Tamilnadu Engineering admission counselling. Candidates can enter their choices as per their preferences of courses and colleges. Candidates will get three consecutive days to fill their choices and after that, the system will automatically lock the choices.  

TNEA Seat Allotment 2024

After the locking of choices by the candidates, the system will tentatively allow the choice based on rank and the applicant’s order of preferences. The applicants through their login can view the same the following day after locking the choices. Submission of Allotment Options: After the tentative allotment, the applicant can also either confirm or decline or reject the allotment. The allotment option is given to get the applicant’s decision based on the tentative allotment.

Final Seat Allotment: The authority will release the first list of Tamilnadu Engineering admission 2024 seat allotment in online mode. The list of candidates will be prepared solely based on the merit list prepared by the authority, choices filled and category of the candidate. Candidates have to log in to their Tamilnadu Engineering admission account to see the result of seat allotment. Candidates can either accept the seat or surrender the seat to participate in the next round of seat allotment. After confirming the seat, candidates have to report to their allotted institute/college in Tamil Nadu.

Reporting to the respective college/institute for admission: After the final allotment, the applicant has to report to the respective college for Tamilnadu engineering admission within the allotted time. Candidates have to submit the remaining fee (deducting the initial deposit paid to Tamilnadu Engineering admission) at the time of admission to the college. The provisional allotment made to them will be automatically cancelled. However, such candidates can claim a refund of the initial deposit from Tamilnadu Engineering Admission.
