GATE Admit Card 2026: The IIT Guwahati will release the GATE admit card 2026 after the GATE registration process. The GATE 2026 admit card will be available on January 2 on the official website. Candidates who have submitted their GATE 2026 application form can download their hall ticket at the GOAPS portal. 

The GATE admit card 2026 login can be accessed using the enrollment ID and password. The GATE 2026 exam will be held on different dates in two sessions: morning (9:30 am to 12:30 pm) and afternoon (2:30 pm to 5:30 pm). The GATE 2026 exam dates are February 7, 8, 14, and 15.

How to Download GATE 2026 Admit card?

The GATE 2026 admit card is an important document, as it serves as identity proof for the candidates appearing for the exam. Candidates must know that the GATE 2026 admit card can be downloaded only from the official website, GOAPS Portal 2026. It can’t be downloaded from any other external website/source. The GATE 2026 hall ticket will be released on January 2, 2026.

Candidates can check the steps to download the GATE 2026 Admit card

Step 1: Visit the official GATE 2026 website and open the GOAPS Portal login page 

Step 2: Log in to the GOAPS portal using the Enrollment ID and Password.

Step 3: Click on the admit card available on the candidate's profile page.

Step 4: The admit card will be displayed on the screen.

Note: Candidates must carefully check the details given on the admit card. Candidates should immediately inform the Exam conducting authority if any discrepancy is found via the provided contact details.

What to do if your GATE 2026 Enrollment ID/ Password is lost?

Candidates need not panic if they have forgotten the GATE enrollment number and password. Candidates can easily retrieve the Enrollment ID and password through a given mobile number and e-mail. 

Steps to retrieve Enrollment ID: 

When retrieving their enrollment IDs, candidates must keep their mobile number and email ID details handy. 

  • Visit the GOAPS Candidate login page 
  • Click on the “Forgot Enrollment” 
  • The website will ask you to fill in your registered mobile number or email. 
  • OTP verification can be done to check the credibility of mobile number/email 
  • The Enrollment Number will be sent to the registered mobile number or email. 

Steps to retrieve Password: 

Candidate can follow the below steps to retrieve the password: 

  • Visit the GOAPS candidate's login page 
  • Click on “Forgot Password” 
  • The website will require a registered mobile number/email 
  • OTP verification will be done to check the credibility of the provided details 
  • A link to change the password will be sent to the registered mobile number/email 
  • Candidates need to fill in a new password twice and save the changed password. 

However, a candidate can retrieve the password or enrollment ID through the GATE GOAPS portal. Still, it is recommended that they keep their enrollment ID and Password safe and secure and avoid changing the password multiple times.

What to carry with your GATE 2026 Hall ticket in the exam hall?

Candidates must carry only the prescribed documents and things in the exam hall. Candidates can check the following list for the same.

GATE Admit Card 2026: Important points to remember 

The GATE 2026 hall ticket comprises the exam, candidate, and instruction details that the applicant must strictly follow. Here is the list of instructions that the candidate must keep in mind -

  • Candidates must present the printed (hard) copy of the GATE hall ticket 2026 in the exam hall. Candidates with an electronic (soft) copy are denied entry into the exam hall. 
  • Candidates must not carry any other items, such as mobile phones, calculators, etc., except those mentioned above (GATE exam instructions), else they will not be able to continue the GATE exam. 
  • Candidates must carry an original photo identity card. The candidate’s photo in the photo ID should be clearly visible and match the candidate's appearance on the admit card. 
  • Exam Conducting authority will not provide any duplicate admit card for GATE 2026 either offline or online at the examination center. 
  • Candidates will not be allowed any delayed entry due to whatever reason; the Candidate will not be given entry if it comes later than the allotted time in the GATE 2026 hall ticket. 
  • Candidates must know that the GATE admit card 2026 will not be issued to candidates whose application forms are incomplete or rejected due to any issue
  • Candidates should not carry any electronic gadgets in the examination hall, if caught their candidature will be suspended.

GATE Admit card 2026: Exam Day Guidelines 

Candidates can follow these guidelines to avoid issues in the GATE 2026 examination.

  • The candidate must schedule the journey to the exam centre at least 60 minutes before the allotted time.  
  • Candidates must leave early to avoid trouble caused by traffic or other minor issues since delayed entry is strictly restricted. 
  • Candidates must remember to carry their GATE hall ticket 2026, photo identity card and a recent passport-size photograph. 
  • Candidates must carry blue or black ballpoint pens with them. 
  • Candidates can’t leave the examination premises before the conclusion of the GATE 2026 exam. 
  • Students are not allowed to carry their calculators. GATE 2026 Virtual scientific calculator will be available on the computer screen.

GATE 2026 Admit card: Facilities for Candidates with scribe 

Candidates with benchmark disability can avail themselves of the scribe's facility. The facility scribe is meant for only those PwD candidates with benchmark disability (not less than 40% disability) and physical writing limitations, including speed. Candidates can read the essential points related to scribes below; 

  • Candidates must know that a scribe will be provided only on producing a certificate stating that the person concerned has physical limitations to write, as given in the GATE 2026 information brochure. 
  • In the case of a person with a benchmark disability (not less than 40% disability) in the categories of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected-BA), and cerebral palsy, the facility of a scribe shall be allowed on advance request only. 
  • Dyslexic candidates can hire scribes, provided they submit a proper dyslexic certificate issued by the competent authorities.

As such, the GATE authorities have not mentioned anything regarding the black and white or colour printout of the GATE admit card to be carried or not. But it is better to carry a colour printout of the hall ticket to the exam centre Also, the admit card of GATE must be in A4 size format.
