NTA JEE Mains 2026 Dates Session 1 & 2: Exam Date, Application Form, Admit Card Schedule

NTA has announced the JEE Main 2026 exam dates. JEE Main 2026 exam will be conducted in two sessions in January and April. The exact date of JEE exam 2026 will be announced along with the information brochure on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE Main Registration 2026 will begin in October, as per the official notification released by the NTA. The information brochure for JEE Main 2026 exam will be released in October, post which the application form will be released. JEE Main 2026 Application form will be available online on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Candidates should report to the JEE Main exam centre as per the time mentioned in their admit card. Ideally, every candidate should report to the exam centre at least one hour prior to the start of JEE Mains exam. The first shift of exam starts at 9 am and the second shift at 3 pm.  

The duration of JEE Main exam is 3 hours or 180 minutes. Candidates who fall under PwD category are given 4 hours to complete the exam as they are provided 20 minute extra for every one hour. Students who opts to appear in Paper 2A (BArch) and Paper 2B (BPlan) both will be provided 3.5 hours. 

JEE Mains exam is held in morning and evening session. The timing of morning session is 9 am to 12 noon and for evening session the timing is 3 pm to 6 pm. Each day exam is held in two session. 

The schedule of JEE Main 2026 application form has been announced on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA will release the JEE Main application form 2026 in October. JEE Mains 2026 registration last date will be around November last week. JEE Main 2026 session 2 application form will be released around first week of February and the last date to apply will be February last week. Candidates can check this page as well as the JEE Main website for regular updates on of JEE Main registration dates.

The official website to apply for JEE Main 2026 is jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA will release the JEE Main application form 2026 session 1 in October. Candidates can fill the form online from the website. Details regarding JEE Main application fee, documents required to fill the form, how to apply and other important details related to application process is available on this page. JEE Main 2026 Session 2 application form will be available in February 2026.

JEE Main form correction facility is provided online wherein candidates can edit the information filled in the application form. Candidates who wish to make any changes to the application form have to login to the JEE Main official website using their application number and password. The correction facility is provided afer the last date of registration. More details regarding the schedule of corrections can be checked on the website.

JEE Mains correction window 2026 will open after the last date of filling the application form. The facility to make correction will be available online on the JEE Main official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. During the correction window, candidates are allowed to change/modify details filled in their application form. Candidates must note that not all fields in the application form will be open for correction. Only certain information like category, address of correspodance/permanent address, exam city preference, paper choice, photo, signature etc. can be modified. Candidates might also be required to pay additional fees for making corrections in certain fields. 

JEE Main city intimation slip 2026 will be available on the NTA official website jeemain.nta.ac.in tentatively in the third week of January for the session 1 exam. JEE Mains City slip have details about the JEE Main exam city in which the candidate is allotted the centre to appear in the exam and the date of exam. It helps candidates to plan their travel to the JEE Main exam centre in advance. JEE Main city intimation slip is different from the admit card.

NTA will release the JEE Main 2026 dates on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The session 1 exam will likely be conducted in January last week. The JEE Main 2026 exam date session 2 will be April first week. The JEE Main 2026 application form will be released in november. Candidates are advised to keep checking this page regularly for all updates related to JEE Main 2026 exam dates and schedule of other events related to the exam.

NTA is yet to announce the JEE Mains 2026 session 1 exam date. As per the past year trends, NTA is likely to conduct the JEE Main session 1 exam in the last week of January. NTA will conduct the exam in two shifts every exam day in approximately 300 test cities of India and abroad. Candidates can check details about exam dates and other schedule on the JEE Main official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

NTA will release the JEE Main Answer key 2026 around 2-3 days after the conclusion of the exam. The link to check JEE Main answer key 2026 will be available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. candidates can download JEE Main answer key response sheet by login to the website. Candidates have to use JEE Main login available at he website for JEE Main answer key download.

Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to download answer key

Step 1- Open the JEE Main website

Step 2- Click on JEE Main answer key link

Step 3- Login using your JEE Main 2025 application number and password/date of birth

Step 4- The answer key will be displayed on the screen along with response sheet

Step 5- Download the answer key and take its printout.

The final answer key, released after reviewing the objections submitted by the candidates will be used for calculating the result/score of the candidates. The final answer key is not subjected for challenge/submission of grievances by the candidates.

To check JEE Mains Result 2025, candidates need to use their login credentials. Candidates need to use their application number and date of birth to login on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in to check their JEE Main result. Candidates can also use their application number and password to check the result. NTA will declare the JEE Main result 2025 session 1 by February 12.

NTA releases the JEE Main result online on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. To check JEE Main result, candidates must follow the step-by-step process mentioned below: 

• Visit the official website of NTA JEE Main result at jeemain.nta.nic.in 2026.

• Click on ‘JEE Main 2026 result’ link.

• On the next page, enter the application number, password/ date of birth and security pin 

• Next, click on 'Submit'.

• On the next page, JEE Main Result 2026 along with scores will appear on the screen.

To participate in the JEE Main counselling, candidates will need to upload the following documents at the time of JoSAA registration. Class 10 mark sheet/certificate, Class 12 Certificate of category (if applicable), PwD Certificate (if applicable). After the seat allotment, while reporting to the institute, candidates will also need to submit documents like JoSAA seat allotment letter, JEE Main/Advanced admit card, Gap Certificate (if gap after class 12).

NTA will announce the JEE Main 2026 exam date for session 2 in November. JEE Main 2026 session 2 exam will likely be held in the first week of April. JEE Main 2026 session 2 registration will start in February first week. The JEE Main Application Form 2026 session 2 will be available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The JEE 2026 session 1 exam will be conducted in January last week.

NTA will release the JEE Main Admit Card 2026 online. Candidates have to visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in and login using their application number and password to download JEE Mains 2026 admit card. After login, candidates will see the JEE Main 2026 admit card download link. The print copy of JEE Mains admit card 2026 has to be taken to exam centre.

Candidates need not have 75 percent marks in class 12 for appearing in JEE Main. As per the official brochure released by the NTA, there is no minimum percentage required for appearing in the JEE Main. The requirement of 75 percent marks need not be associated with appearing in the JEE Main exam.

It is to be understood that 75 percent marks is required for admission to institutes which include NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and IITs. Many institutes offer admission at 60% and even less, along with JEE Main. Candidates must clearly understand that the requirement of 75 percent marks in class 12 is only for taking admission in the institutes.

As per the JEE Main eligibility criteria released by the NTA, there is no maximum or minimum age to apply for JEE Main. Candidates of any age can apply and appear in the JEE Main exam. The only criteria which is applicable is that the candidate can appear in JEE Mains for three consecutive years from the year of passing class 12. For example, if a candidate is applying for JEE Main 2026, candidate must have passed class 12 in 2024, 2025 or appearing in 2026.

No, JEE Main admit card and exam city slip are not same. Exam city intimation slip gives details about exam city and date of exam of candidates. It is released before the release of admit cards. 

JEE Main admit card is the hall ticket, which allows entry to thee exam hall for appearing in the exam. Candidates are allowed to appear in the exam only with JEE Mains admit card and not exam city slip.

As per the official numbers released by the NTA, a total of 13.11 lakh candidates registered for the JEE Main 2025 session 1 exam of which 12.58 lakh candidates appeared. This is the highest number of candidates appeared in JEE Mains. In JEE Main 2024, the total number of unique candidates who appeared both the session is 11.7 lakh.  Canddiates can see the gender-wise distribution of candidates below. Generally, the number of unique candidates appearing in JEE Main every year is around 10 Lacs in both sessions. The exact number of students is released by the NTA every year on the official website with category, gender and state-wise data. JEE Main exam is conducted in two shifts each day. The first shift is conducted from 9 am to 12 noon while the second shift is held from 3 pm to 5 pm. The exam is conducted over a period of 5-6 days. In total JEE Main have a total 10-12 shifts per session. Students in each session get different set of question paper. The paper will be of 3 hours duration.

To check your JEE Mains exam city, you can download the city intimation slip from the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA). Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in and look for the "JEE (Main) City Intimation Slip" link under the candidate activity section. Log in using your application number, date of birth, and security pin to access the slip. Keep an eye on the website for updates, as the link is usually released a few days before the exam.

NTA will release the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 city intimation slip in March third week. The link to download JEE Main session 2 exam city allotment slip 2026 will be available on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Details about the JEE Main exam city and date of exam will be mentioned in the JEE Main session 2 city slip 2026. 

JEE Main exam city slip is the document which have details about the city in which the exam centre of the candidate is located. The JEE Mains city intimation slip also have details of the JEE Main exam date of the candidates. Candidates must note that the exam city slip is different from the admit card. NTA releases the exam city intimation slip around 1 week before the exam starts.

The link to download JEE Mains Admit card 2026 will be available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA will release the JEE Main 2026 admit card separately for both sessions. To download the JEE Main hall ticket, candidates have to login to the website using their application number and password.
