WBJEE JECA 2026: The exam body, West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) is released the WBJEE JECA 2026 exam dates for 2026-27 academic session. Along with schedule it also released the registration dates. The WBJEE JECA will be held on June 14, 2026, while the registrations will start from April 9, 2026. Candidates meeting the minimum eligibility criteria will be able to fill the WBJEE JECA application form till the last date.
Those candidates who successfully submit the application form will be issued the WBJEE JECA hall ticket to appear in the exam. Students qualifying in the exam will be shortlisted for the WBJEE JECA Counselling 2026 for admission to the Master of Computer Application (MCA) course at various institutions across West Bengal. What is WBJEE JECA?

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam for Computer Application, commonly known as WBJEE JECA, is the exam for admission to MCA courses. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts the WBJEE JECA every year for admission in the colleges of West Bengal. Candidates interested to study MCA in West Bengal must appear in WBJEE JECA and qualify the exam.

WBJEE JECA Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can find the eligibility criteria below, which they must fulfil before applying for the exam.

  • Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen
  • Education: Completed graduation or final-year students appearing in 2026
  • Age Limit: There is no age limit

Conditions of educational qualification are given below-

Module 1

  • Candidates must have completed 3 3-year bachelor's degree program from a university recognised by UGC.
  • At least 60% marks in Honours (45% for SC/ST candidates)

         OR

  • BCA from an institute/college recognised by the AICTE, with a minimum of 60% marks in mathematics at the bachelor's level.

Module 2

  • They must have a UGC and/or AICTE-recognised bachelor’s degree of 3 years, except for BBA with mathematics at 10+2 or graduation.
  • Obtained 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC – A/OBC – B candidates) in graduation

Module 3

  • Graduation or equivalent degree under (10+2+3) pattern in any discipline from a UGC/AICTE recognised University/Institute.
  • Mathematics as one of the subjects at each level of education.
  • 60% marks (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/O>BC-B candidates) at each level of education.

Module 4

  • B.Sc. Honours degree under (10+2+3) pattern in any discipline from a UGC recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 60% marks in Aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) along with at least 55% marks in Mathematics.
  • At least 60% marks in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent levels from recognised boards with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at each level.
  • 60% marks (or 45% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) at each level of education.

The WBJEE JECA admit card 2026 is going to be available on the official portal after the application form filling process is complete. Candidates can access and download the JECA admit card 2026 by logging in with their roll number and password. Q:   Where can I check the WBJEE JECA cutoff?
A: 

WBJEE JECA cutoff will be prepared and released online at wbjeeb.nic.in/jeca. The authorities are expected to release the WBJEE JECA cutoff after every round of counselling. The opening and closing ranks for admission can be checked through the cutoff of WBJEE JECA. However, meeting the cutoff does not guarantee admission but it will give the candidates higher chances. No other mode will be used to release the WBJEE JECA cutoff.

Q:   What's next after WBJEE JECA seat allotment?
A: 

After the WBJEE JECA seat allotment announcement has been made, candidates will need to confirm their admission before the last day. They would need to pay the seat acceptance fee and report to their allotted institute and get their documents verified. All documents must be submitted in their original form, along with a set of photocopies.

Q:   How can I apply for WBJEE JECA counselling?
A: 

For WBJEE JECA counseling registration, the applicants will be required to -

  • Go to the official website and login via your roll number and password

  • Fill your personal, academic and contact details. 

All of the details must be carefully checked since the applicants will not be provided with the facility to edit their provided details.

Q:   Are mock tests significant in WBJEE JECA preparation?

Yes. The candidates are recommended to take up mock tests to be adequately prepared for WBJEE JECA. With the help of the mock tests, the candidates will get an idea of how the entrance test would be. Mock tests will also help candidates gauge their current preparation level. The candidates can recognise their frequently made errors and practice on them so that the same will not be committed in the test. Mock tests also enable candidates to enhance their time management skills.

Q:   Is one month enough for WB JECA preparation?
A: 

No, one month is not sufficient time to prepare for the WBJEE JECA. The WBJEE JECA syllabus is vast, and it's not possible to cover all the topics in one month. If you have been or are a BCA student, then it can be less challenging for you since most of the subjects of WBJEE JECA and BCA are similar. You are advised to study all the subjects and solve previous year WBJEE JECA question papers. Begin practising WBJEE JECA sample papers at least 1 or 2 months before the exam to become accustomed to the exam.

Q:   What is the WBJEE JECA seat acceptance fee?
A: 

The WBJEE JECA seat acceptance fee of INR 5000 has to be paid by the candidates online, i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card.

Q:   Is there a fee to make corrections in the WBJEE JECA application form?
A: 

No, there is no fee to make corrections in the WBJEE JECA application form. Please note that the candidates may be required to pay a fee if they change their category.

Q:   Will the final WBJEE JECA answer key be released?
A: 

Yes. The authorities will release the final WBJEE JECA answer key. After checking all of the objections that are submitted against the provisional key, the final answer key of WBJEE JECA will be prepared by the authorities. Candidates will be able to access the final WBJEE JECA answer key online at wbjeeb.nic.in. The authorities will refer to the final key while preparing the WBJEE JECA result.

Q:   There is an error in my WBJEE JECA admit card. What to do?
A: 

Candidates must carefully verify the WBJEE JECA admit card details for any errors. If candidates detect any errors on their admit card, they must inform the authorities immediately.

Q:   I am unable to download my WBJEE JECA admit card. What do I do?
A: 

If you can't download your WBJEE JECA admit card, you are first advised to

  • Check your internet connectivity. If they do not have any issue with their internet connection, then -

  • Reload the website and try logging in again. Heavy website traffic may cause some difficulties in downloading the hall ticket. 

If you are still unable to download the hall ticket, please contact the exam authorities.

Q:   Should I sign my WBJEE JECA admit card?
A: 

No. You should not put your signature or write anything on the WBJEE JECA admit card. If there is any requirement to sign your admit card, you will be notified at the exam centre by the exam officials. If any unnecessary writings are noticed on the admit card, the officials might refuse to accept it, and you will not be permitted inside the centre.

Q:   What determines the WBJEE JECA cutoff?
A: 

While preparing WBJEE JECA cutoff, authorities consider various factors, such as-

  • Difficulty level of test
  • Total number of candidates
  • Previous year cutoffs
  • Total number of seats

Separate WBJEE JECA cutoffs will be released for the two rounds of counselling.

Q:   Can I change my allocated exam centre that is mentioned on the WBJEE JECA admit card?
A: 

No. you will not be permitted to request alteration of the allocated exam centre in the WBJEE JECA admit card. Once the exam centres are allocated, the authorities will not entertain any request for alteration. Hence, the applicants are requested to verify their preferred exam centres given in the WBJEE JECA application form thoroughly before filling the application form. Allocation of exam centres is given according to the preference of the applicants and availability at the centre.

Q:   Where will they release the WBJEE JECA exam centres?
A: 

The WBJEE JECA test centres will be made available online. Cities where the entrance test will be held can be viewed through the WBJEE JECA test centres. The WBJEE JECA will be held in different centres located across different districts of West Bengal. While making the application, the applicants need to choose their desired test zones for the entrance test.

Q:   Is there negative marking in WBJEE JECA?
A: 

Yes. As per the official WBJEE JECA exam pattern, there is a negative marking for wrong answers. For Category I questions, 1/4th of the mark will be deducted for wrong answers. There is no negative marking for Category II questions. Because in Category I there is negative marking, the candidates should be cautious while giving answers.

Q:   Will WBJEE JECA be conducted online?
A: 

No. WBJEE JECA will be carried out as an offline test, i.e., pen-and-paper-based test. Answers to the questions need to be mentioned on specially designed OMR sheets, supplied by the authorities. These will be multiple choice questions (MCQs).  From the given options, candidates would need to choose and mark the correct answer by completely darkening the suitable circle/bubble with a blue/black ink ball-point pen.

Q:   What is the duration of the WBJEE JECA exam?
A: 

The WBJEE JECA exam is a 2 hour exam. Candidates will have to solve 100 multiple-choice questions within the given time. No extra time will be given.

Q:   Is the verification of eligibility criteria necessary before WBJEE JECA registration?
A: 

Yes, candidates must verify the official eligibility criteria on the website before registering for WBJEE JECA. If candidates are deemed ineligible, their admission will be cancelled by the authorities.  

Q:   Where do I find the WBJEE JECA syllabus?
A: 

WBJEE JECA syllabus is available online in the information bulletin as released by the exam authorities. Download the information bulletin and go to APPENDIX –6, page number 23. It is available online at wbjeeb.nic.in. From the syllabus, the candidates can get to know the units and topics on which they will need to prepare for the upcoming entrance exam.

A: 

Yes. You must stick to the WBJEE JECA syllabus as released online by the authorities. If the candidates are aware of the syllabus, they will be able to make their study plan such that they have sufficient time to finish the syllabus and practice it. Knowing the syllabus will also enable the candidates to understand what is expected to be answered in the question paper.
