TS ICET Exam Syllabus 2026
The Analytical Ability section has 75 questions in total from two subsections, namely, Data Sufficiency and problem-solving. Check below the TS ICET exam syllabus for Analytical Ability. The following table brings the structure of the Analytical Ability section of the TS ICET exam.
| Subject/Section | Number of Questions |
|---|---|
| Data Sufficiency | 20 |
| Problem Solving | 55 |
| Total Questions in Analytical Ability | 75 |
i) Data Sufficiency - Most of the questions in this area will have data in the form of statements and arguments. Say for instance, if the data given in the first option explains everything that the question is asking, then without any doubt, the answer is option 1 or it could be the second option if the first option fails to answer the question. This process of analysing the data can be perplexing and this is the reason why candidates need to read the statements carefully.
ii) Problem Solving - Candidates will get answers in this section from Sequences and Series, Data Analysis, Coding and Decoding problems, Date, Time and Arrangement problems. Check what all is included under each subhead in the table below-
| Sequence & Series |
Data Analysis |
Coding & Decoding Problems |
Date, Time & Arrangement Problems |
|---|---|---|---|
| Analogies of numbers and alphabet, completion of blank spaces following the pattern in a: b: c: d relationship, odd thing out: missing number in a sequence or a series. |
The data is given in a Table, Graph, Bar diagram, Pie chart, Venn diagram or a Passage is to be analysed and the questions pertaining to the data are to be answered |
A code pattern of English alphabet is given. A given word or group of letters are to be coded or decoded based on the given code or codes |
Calendar problems, clock problems, blood relationships, arrivals, departures and schedules, seating arrangements, symbol and notion interpretation |
Commonly asked questions
Three sections of TS ICET are divided into sub sections as mentioned below:
- Analytical Ability
- Data Sufficiency
- Problem Solving
- Mathematical Ability
- Arithmetical Ability
- Algebraical Ability and Geometrical Ability
- Statistical Ability
- Communication Ability
- Vocabulary
- Business and Computer Terminology
- Functional Grammar
- Reading Comprehension
Vignana Bharathi Institute of Technology MBA admission is entirely based on the TS ICET exam. Therefore is important for students to pass the exam with a valid score. To get a valid score, candidates must prepare for the TSICET exam.
TS ICET exam comprises questions from several topics based on three sections. These three sections include - Analytical Ability - Mathematical Ability - Communication Ability Analytical and Mathematical ability sections have 75 questions each. On the contrary, the Communication Ability section has 50 questions. TS ICET syllabus is similar to syllabus of any other MBA entrance exam. Analytical Ability section syllabus is similar to DILR syllabus of CAT. Mathematical Ability section syllabus is similar to Quantitative Aptitude section syllabus of CAT. Similarly, Communication Ability section syllabus is identical to CAT exam's VARC syllabus.
Candidates can find the detailed, section-wise TG ICET syllabus in PDF format on the official exam website. The detailed notification booklet outlines all the specific topics covered under each exam section.
Tips to Attempt Questions in TS ICET Analytical Ability Section
Primarily, it is important to understand the questions and write down a brief explanation of why each choice is correct or incorrect while practising sample questions. This is important because, if one understands the reasoning for the practice items, solving the actual problem on the final day will become easier. At the time of TG ICET 2026 preparation, making charts or drawing a picture can prove to be a good strategy for anyone.
Read both the factual passage and the sentence completion instruction carefully. This helps in the selection of the right response in less time. Avoid assuming answers. One must read the whole problem, and then selects the best hint or clue before starting to solve the problem.
TS ICET Preparation: Smart Strategies to Answer Questions
Data Sufficiency
- Clear basic mathematical concepts as this will help attempt questions with clarity.
- Read and re-read each question before selecting an answer on assumption.
- The ideal step will be to go systematically. By this, we mean, solve questions with the first statement and then proceed with the second separately.
- When both the options are tried, analyse which of the option helps you reach the conclusion.
Problem Solving
For the Sequence and Series, as already mentioned, ‘practice is the key.’ Besides, follow the tips mentioned below-
- List the common patterns in one place. Aspirants will find most of the questions are a combination of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. One can also find squares, cubes, reverse patterns as well.
- In the odd one out, try to find again a similar pattern. If there are names of four places, try to find the odd one out.
- In Date, Time and Arrangement problems, keep your practice consistent. This will help you to answer the questions fast.
- In the Coding and Decoding problem area, candidates will find a code pattern of the English alphabet. For this area, if one has learned the number for each alphabet then they can be quick to answer say ‘T’ is 20. The idea is to save time for tricky questions.
- In Data Analysis, there are direct questions based on simple tables and pie charts. This section will help candidates get a good score in TG ICET exam if they attempt the questions carefully and with perseverance.
