Preparation tips for ATMA
The basic way of preparation for competitive exams is to practise mock papers; this would help in understanding the pattern of the exam. Students should focus on understanding and learning the basic concepts as most of the questions would come from the basic section. Practising previous years’ question papers help in preparing for the exam in an organised manner.
To secure high marks, candidates must focus on quantitative aptitude. Refer NCERT book syllabus from Class 9-12. Cover topics such as Permutation and Combination, Inequality, Number Series, Probability, Quadratic Equation, Statistics and so on. Besides, Pie-chart topic is also important.
Practice and solve as many questions as possible to get a better grip on the subject. In ATMA, the time duration of the exam is 180 minutes and the total number of questions is 180. Always start with basic topics instead of focusing on the advanced level. To avoid errors in the exams, join an online test series; this would give an idea of the type of questions asked during the examination. Practice important topics of reasoning ability such as Critical Arrangement, Distribution, Inference, Coding and Decoding, Cause and Effects.
For verbal ability, a student should focus on Synonyms, Sentence Formation, Fill in the Blanks, Idioms, Error Identifications and so on.
Also, time management is the key to success. Proper time management would help in completing the examination within the time frame. Revise all the topics thoroughly. Allot a minimum of 15-20 days for revision.
