TANCET 2026 Counselling Registration: The Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, has started the TANCET counselling 2026. Candidates can complete TANCET counselling registration and upload documents for certificate verification until June 30. TANCET counselling facilitates admission to Government, Government-aided, and University Departments, Regional Centres, and surrendered seats of self-financing institutions across Tamil Nadu. Who is Eligible for TANCET Counselling 2026?

Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements to apply for TN MBA MCA admission process:

  • Nationality: Indian nationals are eligible

  • Entrance Test: TANCET

  • Academic requirement for MBA: A bachelor’s degree from a recognised institute with a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent (45 per cent for reserved categories)

  • Academic requirement for MCA: Candidates must have completed any of the following courses with a minimum aggregate score of 50 per cent (45 per cent for reserved categories)

    • BCA

    • BSc (Computer Science)

    • BSc (IT)

    • BE (CSE)

    • BTech (IT) 

    • Any other graduation degree with Mathematics at the 10+2 level or at the graduation level

  • Study Patterns: Candidates must have followed one of the recognised study tracks among the following:

    • 10 + 2 + 3/4/5 years pattern

    • 10 + 3 years Diploma + 2/3 years pattern

    • 10 + 2 + 2 years Lateral Entry Diploma + 2/3 years pattern

    • 10 + 2/3 years Diploma + AMIE (with 2 years regular full-time experience).

  • Nativity Eligibility:

    • Candidates who studied and passed from standard XI onwards up to their degree in Tamil Nadu need not produce Nativity Certificate.

    • Children of Central Government employees are eligible, irrespective of native state, provided the parent has been serving continuously in Tamil Nadu for the past five years.

    • Children of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are eligible via a parental self-declaration.

    • Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government-recognised institutions working continuously in Tamil Nadu for the past five years can apply.

    • Other state candidates who completed their entire underlying qualifying education pattern within Tamil Nadu are eligible without providing a Nativity Certificate.

    • Tamil Nadu native candidates who completed their schooling or degree outside Tamil Nadu are eligible but will need to upload a digitally signed Nativity Certificate.

  • Sri Lankan Tamil Refugees: Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee candidates who studied in Tamil Nadu are eligible and will be considered under the Open Category.

  • Overseas Citizens: OCI and PIO cardholders who are natives of Tamil Nadu can participate under the Open Category.

TANCET Counselling Registration Process 2026

TANCET counselling registration requires candidates to complete the process below:

TANCET Counselling Registration: Creating User Account

Candidates must complete the one-time registration for TANCET counselling by following the process below:

  1. Visit the TANCET counselling website, tn-mbamca.com

  2. Click on the button stating “Click here for New Registration”

  3. Enter personal details, including 

    1. Name

    2. Valid mobile number

    3. Email address

    4. 8-digit TANCET registration number

  4. Create a new password to login to the TANCET counselling dashboard

  5. Complete OTP verification.

TANCET Counselling Registration: Filling Application Form

To fill the TANCET counselling form, candidates must follow the process below:

  1. Log in to the user account using the generated credentials.

  2. Under the "Personal Info" tab, fill the following details 

    • Date of birth (DD-MM-YYYY format)

    • Communication address

    • Gender

    • Religion

    • Community

    • Caste name

    • Place of birth

    • Mother tongue

    • Special reservation criteria

  3. Fill details under "School/College of Study Information" tab, including 

    • Passing years

    • School/college names

    • District

    • State of institutes where education was completed

  4. Enter detauls in "UG Degree Information" tab, including 

    • College address

    • University affiliation

    • Discipline

    • Passing month

    • All semester-wise maximum and obtained marks.

TANCET 2026 Counselling Fee Payment

Candidates need to pay the TANCET counselling registration fee to be able to upload the documents for certificate verification. Category wise TANCET counselling fee is mentioned below:

TANCET 2026 Counselling Process: Uploading Documents for Certificate Verification

Once the counselling registration fee payment is complete, candidates will be redirected to a new window to upload all relevant certificates. Candidates need to upload scanned copies of all documents. Candidates uploading the documents must abide by a minimum file size of 150 Kb and a maximum size of 1 MB. Additionally, the photographs and signature files must have a file size between 20 KB and 50 KB each.

Documents Required for TANCET Counselling 2026

Candidates are required to upload specific certificates for their eligibility claims during the TANCET counselling process. The list of documents required during TANCET counselling are as follows:

To calculate aggregate academic eligibility marks across all semesters/years.

Provisional Degree Certificate / Degree Certificate / Course Completion Certificate

To verify graduation from a UGC/AICTE-recognised university.

TANCET 2026 scorecard

To establish the official TANCET entrance test raw/percentile performance.

TANCET 2026 hall ticket

To validate exam identity and authenticate the evaluation cycle.

Permanent Community Certificate (For ST, SC, SCA, MBC & DNC, BC, and BCM candidates)

Nativity Certificate (For Tamil Nadu Natives who studied outside the state)

Parent’s Employer Certificate (For children of Central Government employees)

To verify continuous five-year parental employment in Tamil Nadu with supporting IT returns/pay slips.

All India Service Cadre Parent Self-Declaration (for children of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers)

To verify administrative eligibility status.

Passport Size Photo

Online profile configuration and nominal roll generation.

Candidate Signature

Legal endorsement of the digitised application and declaration form.

📋 Important Document Guidelines

Please review these requirements carefully before completing your submission.

  • While scanning the documents, candidates must scan both sides if there is any information printed on the back.
  • Community certificates must be obtained on or before the last date prescribed for certificate verification.
  • ⚠️ Candidates submitting applications without a valid Community Certificate or with certificates from other states will be treated under "Open Competition (OC)" rules.

TANCET Rank List 2026

DTE, Chennai, releases TANCET rank lists with names of the candidates whose documents have been verified. Admission to colleges during the TANCET general counselling process is based on the candidate’s rank. TANCET rank is allotted as per the performance of each candidate who got the documents verified. The rank list of TANCET 2026 mentions the names and ranks of candidates who have qualified for counselling.
