TANCET Data Sufficiency Questions: Anna University designs the TANCET question paper for MBA and MCA. To prepare for the TANCET exam, candidates can practise previous year question papers. Practising TANCET question papers and sample papers helps candidates understand the difficulty level and test structure. Preparing with previous year question papers and sample papers also helps candidates know their strengths and weaknesses from the TANCET syllabus.

As per the TANCET exam pattern, there are 100 MCQs divided across the sections, with 20 questions typically dedicated to the Data Sufficiency section. In this section, a question is followed by two statements, labelled as (I) and (II) or (a) and (b). Candidates have to decide whether the data given in the statements is sufficient for answering the question. Using the data given, plus knowledge of mathematics and everyday facts, candidates must select their answer from the following options:

  1. If the question can be answered with the help of statement I alone.
  2. If the question can be answered with the help of statement II alone.
  3. If both, statement I and statement II are needed to answer the question.
  4. If the question cannot be answered even with the help of both statements.

  • Any incorrect response in the TANCET exam will lead to deduction of 1/3 mark
  • No negative marking prevails for the unattempted questions

Since the TANCET exam have a negative marking for incorrect response, candidates must only mark the answers in the OMR sheet if they are sure of the same. Negative marking may decrease the overall score extensive.
