CGBSE Board Exam 2025: Chhattisgarh Board has decided to award bonus marks to CGBSE 10th 12th Students. In a major initiative aimed at encouraging students to participate in sports and co-curricular activities, Pushpa Sahu, Secretary of the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE), has instructed education department officials to award bonus marks to students excelling in state, national, and international competitions. The new measure, which will be effective for the CG Board Exam 2025, is designed to recognize and reward students' achievements beyond the classroom.

According to the new directive, students who participate in various activities such as sports, National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS), and scouting programs will be awarded additional marks to enhance their overall academic performance.

Bonus Marks Distribution for CG Board Exam 2025

The bonus marks distribution for students participating in various events has been clearly outlined:

  • State-level sports: 10 marks
  • National-level sports: 15 marks
  • International-level sports: 20 marks

In addition to sports, students engaged in various other activities will also be rewarded with bonus marks:

  • NCC RD Parade: 15 marks
  • NCC Mavlankar Shooting: 15 marks
  • NCC Air Wing Camp: 15 marks
  • NCC Naval Camp: 15 marks
  • NCC Army Camp: 15 marks
  • NCC D-Cat Camp: 15 marks
  • NSS RD Parade: 15 marks
  • Scout/Guide Governor’s Award: 10 marks
  • Scout/Guide President’s Award: 15 marks
  • Ullas Nav Bharat Literacy Programme: 10 marks

This initiative aims to give due recognition to students who have excelled in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, promoting holistic development among them.

Eligibility Criteria for CGBSE 10th, 12th Bonus Marks

To ensure that the process is fair and transparent, Pushpa Sahu emphasized that only students who participate in certified competitions are eligible for bonus marks. These competitions must be recognized by reputed bodies such as the Indian Olympic Association, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and the School Games Federation of India. Moreover, the participation must be verified by official bodies for students to qualify for the additional marks.

Students engaged in the NCC and NSS activities will also be eligible, provided they participate in the designated camps and parades.

Students who are unable to secure minimum 33 aggregate marks in any subject will be marked Fail. Also, failing in up to two subjects will require the student to participate in the CGBSE class 12 supplementary exams. To avoid a situation like failing in CGBSE 10th exam, students must prepare well for the exam.
