IIT Kanpur Partners with Zynetic to Develop Next-Gen EV Charging Solutions
IIT Kanpur's partnership with Zynetic highlights a commitment to shaping India's sustainable, EV-ready future. By uniting resources and expertise, this collaboration aims to advance EV technology and infrastructure.
The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zynetic Electric Vehicles Charging Private Limited, a leading developer and operator of EV charging stations. This partnership aims to propel the innovation and deployment of advanced AC and DC fast chargers for electric vehicles, representing a major milestone in the expansion of India’s EV infrastructure.
Through this MoU, IIT Kanpur and Zynetic will leverage their strengths in research, academic exchange, and consultancy to address key challenges in EV charging technology. Focusing on power electronics, embedded systems, and AI-driven predictive maintenance, the partnership aims to develop next-generation EV chargers tailored to the needs of India’s rapidly expanding electric vehicle market. By combining IIT Kanpur's research excellence with Zynetic's industry expertise, this collaboration seeks to deliver chargers with superior reliability and efficiency.
Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, said, “The partnership with Zynetic is an example of how academia and industry can work together to develop EV infrastructure and help India achieve its green goals. The government’s ambitious goal of achieving 30% of new private vehicle registrations being EVs by 2030 will require a massive charging ecosystem to cater to 8 crore EVs. This collaboration will enable IIT Kanpur to contribute to fulfilling India’s energy goals.”
