The University of Delhi (DU) has once again asserted its academic prowess by securing positions among the world's top universities for the study of 25 subjects in the latest edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh announced the university's impressive performance, highlighting significant advancements compared to the previous year.

In a special institutional press release from the QS Press Office in London, it was revealed that DU has achieved improved standings in numerous subjects, a testament to its commitment to academic excellence. Prof. Yogesh Singh extended his congratulations to all stakeholders, including faculty and students, for their contributions to DU's success.

The 2024 edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject, unveiled today by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, offers comprehensive insights into the performance of over 16,400 individual university programs worldwide. These programs, spanning 55 academic disciplines and five broad faculty areas, are pursued by students across more than 1500 universities in 96 locations worldwide.

Prof. Yogesh Singh elaborated on DU's achievements, revealing that the university excels in 25 subjects, with nine subjects witnessing an upward trajectory, eleven maintaining their positions, and four entering the rankings for the first time. Notably, India boasts 368 ranked programs across 68 institutions, underscoring the country's growing presence in global academia.

DU's standout performances in subjects such as Development Studies, Anthropology, History, Business and Management Studies, Biological Science, Computer Science and Information Systems, Linguistics, Chemistry, and Environmental Science have significantly contributed to its enhanced rankings this year, showcasing the university's commitment to excellence across diverse fields.

As DU continues to consolidate its position among the world's leading academic institutions, its success in the QS World University Rankings 2024 reaffirms its status as a beacon of learning and innovation in the global higher education landscape.
